Reese's POV
I was released from the hospital a week after waking up. The doctors seemed surprised that I was doing so well. They always had the psychologist come in and ask me questions about what happened. I honestly didn't know how I got all of my injuries but I just figured I had gotten ran over by a car with the guy Raymond driving. Everyone spoke his name to me.
I had yet to see Mikey but I think he felt guilty. He had avoided my texts and my calls. Spencer just told me that he had loads of work to do. I doubted it though since he was my personal secretary and I hadn't been to work in a week.
"Hey Sexy, can we stop at Animal Cares?" I asked. He seemed a bit nervous but did so anyways.
Clive was there when I walked in. He looked up at me, his eyes full of joy. He hugged me and brought me to his office.
"Reese, I was so worried about you this last month. I assume you got my message."
"What message? And I've only been gone a week," his eyebrows raised up.
"Oh- well this is awkward. But I had to let you go. You hadn't reported in for a month and the business got too overwhelming so we had to give the job to someone else."
"What about Mikey?"
"He too, was released. I offered him a job but he said that felt like betrayal to you. He stayed long enough to show the new secretary the ropes. He hasn't been here for the last three days," Clive looked sad by saying all of that. I was utterly confused.
"Well thank you Clive. You've been a good boss. I'll pick up my stuff-"
"Oh don't worry about that. A man named Spencer Reid dropped it off at your apartment. Mikey verified him before he took it." Clive helped me walk out the door.
Spencer stood by the car waiting like I had asked him to. He helped me into the car. Clive waved goodbye and headed back into Animal Cares. I was slightly annoyed at Spencer for not telling me about my job and that I was somewhere for a month, that I couldn't remember. I turned to look out the window and didn't even attempt to talk to him.
"Peanut Butter, what's wrong?" He asked. For being a technical genius he was stupid.
I just kept looking out the window. When we got to my apartment I used the elevator and shut Spencer out of it as he got my little suitcase that I had at the hospital. He had to take four flights of stairs to get up to my apartment. I got to my door and realized that Spencer had my key to get inside. I mentally groaned and physically pounded on my door.
I heard the knob start to turn, making several attempts to try to open it. That was odd. I had no pets or children. Unless-no she would never rent it out to someone else. I had thought that Animal Cares would never fire me either but that was wrong.
"Spencer is that you?" It sounded like Raylee. "Did you ever fix that darn hole in your pocket so the key wouldn't fall out?" She started to chuckle as she opened the door. "You're not Spencer."
"And you aren't supposed to be here. Why are you here, in my apartment?" I stepped inside.
"Well I thought that after you got out of the hospital I could help you out. I can work from here since I'm a- I don't think you really care. Well alright," a little boy with platinum blonde hair ran out of my spare bedroom, used as an office occasionally. "Reese this is my son, Ray."
He looked up at me with blue eyes. I fell onto the couch. Something about those looks were so familiar, not in a good way either. Spencer barged in, bag still in hand.
"Thank goodness, I thought you had fallen or something Peanut Butter!" He gave me a big hug.
Even though it was only 6 at night I insisted immediately that I needed to go to bed. The bed was a mess, men's clothes were in a pile in a corner of my bedroom. In the bathroom there was a toothbrush and comb that wasn't mine. I popped my head out and saw Spencer cleaning up a little of the mess.
"Sorry, I've been sleeping here for a month. I offered Raylee the room for this last week but she said I was fine. She's been sleeping on your futon in the spare room. I can sleep on the couch if you want. I'd assume that you would so I'm just cleaning up my stuff right now."
"Don't go," I quietly said.
"What?" He seemed a little surprised.
"I need you Sexy."
He seemed frozen in time, shocked from my statement. But then he nodded his head ok. I got my hair and teeth brushed and did some other business in the bathroom while Spencer and Raylee ate supper.
I couldn't change clothes on my own so I had Raylee help me out. Spencer played with Ray for a little while. By the time it had reached 8 pm I was exhausted but my hair still needed done for my night time routine. Spencer came into the room, finally starting to get ready for bed.
"Hey Sexy, can you braid my hair?" I asked.
"Uh- I guess so," his fingers running through my hair was like a tiny bit of heaven near me. "Why were you mad at me earlier?"
I sighed. "Why hadn't you told me I was fired?"
"I didn't think it was in my place to tell you that. Normally the boss is the one to do that."
The French braid had began.
"But you knew, for a whole week. I was awake for a week, Spencer! I deserved to know!" My voice had begun to raise.
"I know, I thought Mikey would've come in to visit but he hasn't been doing much these last few days."
"Can we visit him?" My voice immediately became soft. The idea of poor Mikey having been fired saddened me.
"Tomorrow Peanut Butter, tomorrow." His large fingers lifted off of my head. "I think it looks pretty good."
He held up a mirror so I could see. It was ok for the first time but I'd have to have Spencer practice some more. I just nodded my head in aprovement though.
He went into the bathroom to get ready and I laid down on the pillows. I missed being in my own bed. My eyes closed and I was out.
I sat in a chair, my hands bound with silk. The room was dark. Footsteps came from my left and a door closed. A deep laugh came and the person pressed their lips to mine forcefully. I attempted to struggle out but the chair was bolted down.
"Darling Reese. You'll never be let go from my grasps."
I started to cry and scream and kick. The man's laughter continued.
A shaking woke me up. The lights had been turned on and Spencer's face was hovering over me. His brown eyes full of concern.
"What is it, Peanut Butter?" His voice was very tired.
"N-n-nothing," I stammered out.
His hand rubbed my right arm. "It wasn't nothing. Tell me about it."
"There was a man and I was tied to a chair and he kissed me and it hurt and..." I broke down into tears.
Spencer hugged me, my face was in his chest. His shirt began to grow very wet but he didn't complain. I was glad my broken ribs were in my left side so j could lay on my right side to cuddle with Spencer. I easily went back to sleep again.
In the morning I heard laughter outside my door. I didn't open my eyes, enjoying the heat that came to my right side. At first I was confused but the. I remembered Spencer had slept in this bed the night before. I heard the door creak open and a little giggle come from my favorite God-daughter.
"Charlie, what are you doing silly?" I asked my eyes still closed.
I heard a picture snap, so did my eyes. Vanesa was holding her phone, with Colton laughing by her side. Charlie jumped onto my bed. Spencer's head popped up.
"What is going on?" He asked.
"Spencer, meet my God-daughter Charlie." Ray ran in and jumped on my bed.
"Hey guys," I rubbed their heads, it was difficult to do with the only one hand. Spencer smiled as he said that.
They giggled and ran out of my room. Vanesa and Colton took one last picture and then stepped out, closing the door behind them. I stuffed my face back in my pillow and groaned. Spencer just flopped back on to the bed.
Vanesa was smiling when we came out. "Wow, that took a little while. What were you guys doing?" She wiggled her eyebrows.
Spencer walked over to the stack of pancakes that had been cooked. He grabbed some for me too. He had added some peanut butter and chocolate chips to mine. Syrup was the only thing added to his.
"Nothing, V."
"Sure, I totally believe you R." She poked my arm.
"Fine, I had to get changed. You know how I hate being in my pjs all day. I can't do that on my own at the moment."
Raylee said, "That's true. I had to help her yesterday."
Spencer just shoved pancakes into his mouth so Vanesa wouldn't ask him anything. Colton and Spencer decided that it would be good for us girls to have a girls day. They brought little Charlie and Ray with them to make sure we could talk about anything.
