Chapter 12: Planning For the Big Day (Jake's and Avril's POV's)

(Jake's POV)

It's only been a couple weeks since we got engaged, and my poor Avril has been running around like a chicken with her head cut off, planning for our big day. I have been helping her out with everything and anything she needs, but she is very stubborn in her ways and wants everything to be absolutely perfect. I shake my head and chuckle a little, continuing with my workout. I grab my dumbbells and begin using them, working on gaining more muscle in my arms. Not too long after finishing, do I hear Avril calling my name. I set my gear down and run back into the bathroom, where I see Avril struggling to pull the zipper up on her dress.

I take it that she needs me to zip it up, so I do exactly that. She turns around and smiles gratefully, kissing my cheek and then puts her shoes on. I ask where she is heading to, and she tells me that she has an appointment to go dress shopping along with Tam, Mae, Juliet, and Lana. I nod my head and kiss her softly telling her to have fun, and be safe. She nods her head and kisses me back, heading out the front door.

As soon I see her car drive off, I pull open my laptop and begin looking at venues for the reception. I find a venue that looks pretty decent right in the middle of downtown Los Angeles. It's an old abandoned steakhouse restaurant that's been converted into a party rental space. I call the number on the computer screen and inquire about getting the space for the 20th of June, as that is the date that Avril and I both picked. We already chose the location for the actual ceremony, which is up at Malibu Beach.

Then I look at places to take her on our honeymoon, and I immediately think of Hawaii, as my dad lives there and we could visit him a couple times while on the islands. Then when we want alone time, we can head out and get a view of the islands and head back to our bungalow. I call a travel agent and book a whole month's time from June 27th to July 27th in Hawaii, Maui, Oahu, and Kauai (where my Dad lives), along with the two smaller islands of Lanai and Molokai.
