Chapter 14

-A few days later-

Natalie's PoV:

I walk down to the mail room. I grab my mail and head back to my room. I sit at my desk as I open my mail. I notice a letter from the school. I open it and read it as fast humanly possible.

-Dear Natalie Mathews,

We are proud to say that you have been accepted into the externship in Berlin Germany. You will need to be ready to leave by June 2nd and your plane ticket is enclosed in the envelop. Your departure time is 5:15pm on June 3rd. We look forward to seeing you there.

"Oh My God!" is all that I can say. Then my mind jumped to the thought of Michael. "What is he going to say." I ask myself.

*Beep Beep*

I look down to see him calling me. I pick up the phone and talk to him. "speaking of my fallen angel. What are you up to?" I ask him in a playful tone.

"I was wondering if your up for a date tonight maybe dinner and a movie?" he asks me.

"Sound good to me. I have some big news to tell you when I see you." I tell him trying not to scream.

"Is this good news or bad news?" He asks me sounding concerned.

"Really good news. Now what time do you want to come pick me up?" I ask him.

"How's about 5:30 tonight?"

"Sounds like a plain. See you then." I tell him before I hang up the phone. I look at the clock and it reads 2:45pm.

"I need to get ready." I tell myself.

Michael's PoV:

I get to Natalie's room a little early and knock on her door.

"Hey your early. Come on in I'm almost ready." She says as I walk into her room.

She walks into her bathroom and I take a seat on her bed. I see a letter laying open on her pillow. I picked it up and started reading it.

I finish reading as she walks out of the bathroom. I look up at her. "What is this?" I ask her with a worried look in my eyes.

"That's what the good news I wanted to talk to you about." She says smiling.

"But what about us did you think about what will happen to our relationship when applied for it or do you just not care about us or even me?" I ask her shouting as I get angrier.

"I thought you would be happy for me not mad. And for your information I applied for this externship before spring break so 'us' never even crossed my mind." She started to yell at me. I can see the tears in her eyes treating to fall.

"Forget about the movie, I need to go home. I need some time to think." I said before I walk out of her dorm room and accidentally bump into Devin.

Devin's PoV:

Michael just bumped into me as if I wasn't even there. He seemed upset and about something. I walk into our room and see Nat laying in her bed softly crying. "Natalie?" I ask in a soft low voice. She looks up at me, her cheeks stained with tears and her eyes were red and puffy. "What happened? Did he hurt you?" I ask as I sit down next to her on her bed.

"No he didn't hurt me but something did happen." she says as she sits up and wiping the tears away with the back of her sleeve. She took in a deep breath, "Do you remember when I applied for the externship a few months ago?" she asks and I nod in response. "Well I got the letter from them and I got in." She continues with a weak forced smile. "Michael came over a little early and apparently he saw the letter on my bed and he read it." she paused to take a few deep breaths. " I thought he would be happy for me. But he got mad and started yelling at me. Saying things like how could I have done this to us or what will happen to our relationship?" she says as he holds back her tears.

"Are you okay? I mean is your guys' relationship going to be okay or..." My voice fails as I try to ask her the question.

"I don't know. He canceled the date and said he needed time to think." she stated.

"It's going to be okay Nat. Its' all going to be okay." I tell her as I hold her in my arms.

(At Michael and AJ's apartment)

AJ's PoV:

I'm sitting on the couch watching Step Brothers on FX. I hear the door slam and I whipped my head around to see Michael storm in. "Hey man I thought that you had plans with Nat tonight?" I ask him a little confused.

"Not anymore." He growled back at me.

"What happened?" I ask even more confused.

"Natalie got a letter of acceptance to an externship." he said angrily as he sat next to me.

"That's cool. Where at?" I ask excited.

"Berlin Germany." He said in a low sad voice.

"Oh, is she gonna go?" I ask hopping that he won't blow up at me.

"Why wouldn't she it's a once in a life time chance to go." He said taking a breath, "She'll leave me here when she leaves and will forget all about me." he says leaning over and putting his head into his hands.

"How could she, you're her soul mate and she is yours." I told him full of hope.

"Someone else will win her over. She is perfect, from her beautiful smile to her great singing voice. I don't want her to leave me." He says.

I saw the tears in his eyes as he looks up at me. "Then what are you going to do if she leaves?" I ask him worried about what he might say.

"I don't know man, I don't know." he answers before he got up and went to his room.

Michael's PoV:

I shut the door behind me. I finally let the tears that I have been stinging my eyes fall. The only way to let out the pain was to play it out. I grabbed my guitar and started to sing.

I sang through the pain in my heart. I look at my phone and see Natalie's name on the screen, I open my phone to see multiple messages from her.

     N:- can we please talk? :( -
N:- please come over I want to talk with you-
      N:- Michael please answer me-
My heart sank in my chest as I read her texts.
     M:- I'll meet you at the café for lunch tomorrow- I set my phone down and went to sleep.
