Chapter 19

Michael's PoV:

I finish packing my duffle bag and I grab my plane ticket and I walk out of the apartment. AJ drives my to the air port and I quickly get through security. I take a seat as I wait for my plane's number to be called. After about 20 minutes they finally call my plane and I take a seat next to a window and I put in my headphones and hit play on my phone.

The plane ride goes by so fast the next thing I know I'm in Germany. I get off the plane and grab my bag and guitar as I walk out of the airport. I get a taxi to finally stop and the 4 weeks of beginners German I took in high school barely helped at all. After 10 minutes of failed communication and a rather large map we finally make it to Natalie's house.

I knock on the door and a guy with shaggy hair answers the door. "Hello." He says with a smile. "Can I help you?" he continues.

"Hi I'm looking for Natalie Mathews she lives here right?" I ask suspicious of the tall guy at the door.

"Yes she lives here and who might you be?" He answers my question with one of his own.

"I'm her boyfriend Michael Daaé. Who are you?" I continue to ask him.

"I'm her house mate Dustin. Come on in does she know you're here?" He finally steps aside and lets me in the house.

"No I thought I would surprise her with a visit." I tell him as I take a quick look around.

"Let me go get her for you." Dustin says as he quickly goes up stairs.

I take a seat on the sofa and wait for Natalie to come down.

Natalie's PoV:

I finished getting dressed as Dustin knocks on my door.

"Hey Nat can you come down stairs real quick?" he asks really fast and leaves before I even give him an answer.

I throw my hair up as I start down the stairs. I reach the bottom of the stairs and I see someone sitting on the sofa. "Umm Dustin?" I ask look around the room and the mystery person stands up and turns to me. I see its Michael. I run over to him and hug him tightly he leans in and kisses me deeply.

"I missed you so much. What are you doing here?" I ask him shocked.

"I took the week off to come and see you. I've missed you and Hope has been really getting on my nerves lately." he tells me as he holds me closer.

I hug him back then I look up to him with a large goofy smile on my face.

"So what are your plans fro today?" he asks as he releases me from his hug.

"Nothing much. What do you want to do?" I ask him as I take a seat on the sofa.

"Well I was thinking we can go out for dinner then maybe come back and watch a movie." He says as he sits next to me.

"Sounds great, but when do you have to go back home?" I ask concerned.

"In a couple of days. Till then I'm all yours." He says and pulls me onto his lap.

"Great!" I say as I lean in and kiss him again.

He pulls away slowly, "Where's your house mate?" He asks softly.

"Dustin is probable in his room. Why?" I ask.

"I don't know why but he just makes me fell uneasy." He says as his smile drops a little.

"Well you don't have to worry about anything. I have an idea. I know a place that has some great entertainment." I tell him to change the subject.

"Okay what kind of entertainment?" he asks suspicious.

"How does karaoke sound?" I say smiling.

(Time skip)

Michael's PoV:

We walk into the karaoke bar and I look over towards Natalie and she has the largest smile I have ever seen since she left. I grab a music list that is in the middle of the table that we take a sit at.

"So what do you want to sing? Beautiful Drug, or maybe Cowboy Casanova?" I ask her as I look at the list.

"I don't know, what do you think?" She asks smiling at me.

"How's 'bout we start with a duet?" I suggest.

"Like what?" she asks as she takes the list out of my hands.

A waitress comes over to take our order. "I'll have a beer." I say and look over to Natalie.

"I'll have a beer as well." she says smiling.

We sign up for a song and Natalie said she wants to surprise me with her song selection for us.

(small time skip)

I'm on my second beer and Natalie finished her first when our names are called to sing.

We walk up to the stage and I lean over and whisper in Natalie's ear. "So are you going to tell me what song we're singing?" I ask smiling.

"Yes. I picked 'We Were Us' is that okay with you?" She asks and gives me a quick kiss on my cheek.

"Perfect." I say smiling and then the music starts.

      

Natalie's PoV:

    We finish the song and we sit back down and Michael finished his beer.

          We drank a few more beers and took turns singing and from the reaction of the crowd we were a hit.

     By 11:30pm Michael is a buzzed goof ball so we head back to my place.

Dustin's PoV:

        I'm such an idiot of course I kiss a cute girl and the next day her boyfriend shows up at the front door. Maybe a song can make this better. I open my laptop and search 'country apology songs'.  After some thought I narrowed it down to two songs. 'Outta My Head' or 'Goodbye in her Eyes'. 

I finally decide on a song and I hear a car pull into the driveway. I get up off the sofa and walk into room off the living room, as I hear Natalie and Michael come into the house. I lay down and turn on my TV and slowly fall asleep.
