The cold winter days had come faster than expected, the chilly winds eventually brought snow storms, and the castle was covered in a white coat of snow. From first year students to the professors , everyone was looking forward to the snow days. Although it's cold, playing in the snow has always been my favorite thing, and going to The Three Broomsticks to get butterbeer was our winter destination. Clover, Kilian, Teddy and I had joined forces to study for our O.W.L.s in the Room of Requirements. The room was equipped with everything we needed to practice, which made it easier for us to work in secret. Kilian was in charge of helping us with Potions, Herbology, Astronomy, and Care of Magical Creatures, while I helped the group with Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Transfigurations and Divination. We would go up every friday and practice every single spell, potion and charm on each other. At times, Clover would get frustrated as she was unable to perform a spell, but Kilian was always there for support. Teddy and I practiced defence spells on each other, while Kilian always taught me the darker spells, including the two of the forbidden curses while the other two were not around. His obsession of becoming an Auror had made him read every dark book in the library. I don’t understand how he’s afraid of getting detention when he’s learning things we are not allowed to. Teddy and I have gotten really close since the day I came back, but something was different. He looked at me differently, his eyes would always turn brown; not like mine, but rather the color of hot cocoa, with small rays of gold, as if the sun were to shining from the inside, and the outer side, seemed to radiate a faint purple hue, as if his eyes were soon to turn violet. I loved his eyes, and his warm hugs he gave me when he saw me the following morning, since I got back. I was fully aware I had gone missing for two days, but Teddy made me feel as if I had been gone for centuries. He didn’t left my side for the entire day, and it wasn’t until I had gone back to the Ravenclaw common room that I realized I had missed him so much more than I thought.
“Galeon for your thoughts” Clover says, her gray beanie, perfectly hugging her head. She had two braids on the side, making her look younger than her actual age. The trips for Hogsmeade had changed from specific dates to every weekend in December.
“What?” I ask her, looking into the small mirror by my bed. My Ravenclaw scarf was already fading, so I decide to use the infinity scarf Clover’s mom had sent me for my birthday.
“You’ve been tapping your fingers for like five minutes straight.” I look down, my cold fingers moving as if I was not in control. I smile, trying to clear my head.
“Sorry, I think something is wrong with me” I say, putting my gloves on, and sliding into my winter boots.
“You going?” She asks, confused.
“I promised Teddy I would go to the three broomsticks with him...probably go practice more spells in the forbidden forest, or something...wanna join?”
“I'm going to study a bit of Astronomy more. I'll catch up. 30 minutes?” She looks at Kilian, who just gives her a thumbs up.
“Kilian, how do I look with the muggle scarf? Also, be thankful there is no one in the dorms right now. You are not allowed in here” I wink at him, he blushes a little, but he returns his gaze to Clover, as if waiting for approval to compliment me.
“Looks great on you. How are you going to get out of the castle, if according to Longbottom, you are to be inside the castle at all times?” I roll my eyes. Ever since Mcgonagall found out Longbottom and Potter had been trying to use legilimency to figure out the connection between the Marvolo family and me, I have been followed by every school professor. In a way, it led us to find the room of requirements, but at the same time, I still wanted to know what Potter saw that night. I had sent over a dozen letters in the weeks that followed, but I never got a response. No matter how many times I asked Albus or Teddy to help, they never found out either.
