Chapter 19: Fight Back

I woke up the next morning to talking.

"But what if she sees it?" "I don't know. I cant believe he did that to her." I rolled over and saw Taylor and Carter in the doorway. "Good morning princess." Taylor smiled.

"Don't worry I already saw what Shawn said." I said as I got up. I walked into my room shutting and locking the door door behind me.

I sighed I turned on my phone to see the familiar texts from Gabbie. 'You know no one wants you here right?'

I shut off my phone and walked into my bathroom. I sat on the the toilet seat, pulling my knees to my chest. I let the tears fall as I pulled out my razor from the drawer. I pulled up my sleeve and moved my bracelets show my bare wrists that were covered in scars from the horible year before.

I sobbed as I slid the razor across my arm. The warm sticky blood fell down my arm as I dragged the razor for a second time.

It was kinda reliving. I put my head back, sighing and gave myself another cut. I shook my head and cleaned my wrists. I took a short shower and got dressed making sure to put on long sleeves.

I tied my hair up in a ponytail while walking down stairs. Taylor and Carter sat at the table in the kitchen eating. "Hey princess." Taylor said walking over to me and kissing my head. "Hey."

"Aww. So cute." Carter said in a girly tone as I glared at him. "Sorry its adorable." He smiled. "I never knew you wore glasses." I said sitting down.

"Yeah I don't wear them much." I nodded. "So how does it fell knowing you have to go back to school on monday?" Taylor asked taking a sip from his drink.

"Shot I forgot." I said hitting my hand to my face. "Hey its okay you'll have me and Carter. Plus all the other guys." Taylor smiled.

"But I don't have Shawn." I said making Taylor and Carter both go silent. "I'm going to go to Starbucks and get a coffee." I said getting up. "Can you get me one?" Carter asked as I walked out of the house.

I shoved my headphones in and started to walk into the town. Once I got to Starbucks I order a Tall Vanilla bean Frapuccino and waited for my order. I sat at a table and waited.

"Hey." I looked up from my phone as Shawn sat in front of me. I tensed up and I guess Shawn noticed. "Im sorry Maddie." He said grabbing my hand. I pulled away putting my hands in my lap. "Madison." I heard my names called. I walked up and grabbed my drink, I quickly tried to leave.

I sighed once I got outside and continued to walked down the street. I pulled my phone to call Taylor to let him know I was on my way home when out of no where a hand covered my mouth and pulled me into an alley.

I was slammed against a brink wall, banging the back on my head. "Jake?" "What did you think I would just leave you alone?" He asked. I tried to screamed but he covered my mouth, making my screams muffed.

"Shut up!" He yelled annoyed. I attempted to push him off but he was much stronger then me. "You know you'll never get away from me. You can try but it will never work." He held my arm down. I whimpered as he squeezed my wrist with the fresh cuts.

I removed his hand from my mouth. "Pleas Jake." "What, You scared?" He asked with a smirk. I shook my head, making him chuckle. "Well you should be." His fist collided with my jaw. I screamed in pain and held face face. "Scream again and I'll kill you." He hit me again in the stomach knocking the wind out of me.

"Hey stop!" I turned my head and Shawn came running down the alley. "Ah, hey Shawn thanks for the tip. Letting me know she was here. That was very helpful." I look at Shawn with pleading eyes. Jake chuckled and slapped me. "Alright leave her alone." Shawn said pulling on Jakes arm.

"Don't touch me." Jake push Shawn against the wall. "Leave him alone." I yelled kneeling on the ground. "What did I say about screaming." Jake asked looking down at me. Shawn took that time to push Jake off him, punching him in the face and pushing him to the ground.

TAYLOR POV

I was sitting in the kitchen table waiting for Maddie to come home and Carter was looking threw the fridge. My phone started to ring. The caller ID came up as 'Princess'. I smiled and answer the phone. "Hey Babe what's up?"

"Jake?" I heard Maddie ask. "No-" "What did you think i would just leave you alone?" My heart stopped. "Carter Maddie's with Jake we have to go now." I said getting up and running to the door.

I ran as fast as I could to the Starbucks Maddie went to hoping she was still near there while keeping her on the phone.

"Taylor get in." Cameron yelled pulling up in his car next to me. I jumped in the back seat, shaking. I told them were she was last and Cam drove as fast as he could.

MIDDIES POV

Shawn grabbed me and helped me up as Jake lied on the ground.

He ran out of the alley and to the side walked. I looked around and we were right next to the Starbucks. In fact we were behind it. I sighed knowing I was okay when Cameron's car pulled up next to us. The car hadn't even stopped when Taylor jumped out of the car and ran over to me wrapping me in a tight hug.

"Where the hell is he?" Carter asked. Shawn pointed to the ally where Jake had been. Cameron and Carter ran in to hold him down while the cops came.

I sat in the back of Cams car with Taylor while everyone was getting questioned by the police.

"Madison, is it alright if we question you?" A woman asked walking over to me. "Uh, yeah of course." Taylor grabbed my hand and I smiled at him.

"Can you tell me exactly what happened?" I nodded. "I came out of Starbucks when he came up from behind me and pulled me into the ally. That when he hit me that." "How did Shawn get involved?" She asked.

"He saw what was happening and tried to get him to stop. He pushed him away and helped me up. That's when the others showed up and called the cops." She nodded her head writing everything down. "Alright, thank you." She smiled. "But we are going to have to call your mother." I nodded my head as the laddie walked away.

"Whats wrong?" Taylor asked. "Knowing my mom she is going to make me go back home." I said a tear falling down my cheek.

"But you cant." Taylor said his voice cracking. "I don't want to, but the way she is she's going to make me leave thinking she's helping me."

After a while we got to go home. The cop said Jake will be put into custody and I might have to go to trial. We pulled up to the house and there was already a car in the driveway.

I got out of the car and walked inside. "Mom?" "Right here baby." She said walking over and pulling me into a hug. I started to cry. "Come on we have to get you packed up." My mom said as we pulled from the hug.

"Wait what do you mean?" i asked whipping a tear away.
