"What did you think of the movie Phil?" Dan asked as they walked through the now dark streets of their town. Phil still held him under his arm, tightly, almost protectively.
"It was great, the gore was cool."
Phil looked at him. "You know you should have told me you were afraid of horror movies, we could have seen something else."
Dan shook his head. "Nah it was fun after you put your arm around me."
Phil opened his mouth to say something, but a stranger walked by them and he held Dan closer, painfully close.
"Ah Phil what are you doing?" Dan hissed. Phil's eyes followed the stranger until he was out of sight. He lessened his hold.
"I'm sorry! I get paranoid." Phil quickly apologized, holding his hands back.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you..." Phil looked at the floor and slumped his shoulders back.
"It's okay Phil. You just surprised me, that's all. Why are you paranoid?" Dan asked in a soft tone. He reached for the other boy's hand and squeezed it for reassurance. He lifted his other hand and gently tilted Phil's gaze back up to him. His eyes were glazed and his brow was furrowed into a worried expression.
"That guy that walked by...anyone...it's not safe, not when there's a killer on the loose. We should hurry back." Phil gripped Dan's hand and pulled him the rest of the way. A nagging voice in the back of Dan's mind told him he was responsible for Phil's worries, it was his job to rid him of them.
When they got to Phil's doorstep, Phil turned to Dan and gave him a small smile. Dan was about to say goodbye, but was cut off by the sudden invasion of personal space. Phil gently gripped his shirt and pulled him closer until their lips met.
There were about a million scenarios Dan had come up with in the past. A million scenarios of him and Phil kissing. A million scenarios and his imagination could not come close to the real thing.
At the party, Phil had neglected Dan's lips. And Dan was thankful for that because knowing a sober Phil actually kissed him out of his own free-will made it that much more intoxicating.
His lips were warm; they were soft and fit perfectly to Dan's cold, chapped ones. He felt his knees go weak and his mind go blank. This was Dan's first kiss, and he loved nothing more in the world at that moment than Phil Lester. In that quick second, every one of Dan's senses felt eternal.
Phil pulled away slowly. Dan felt his warm breath against his lips as he did so, it was like a final seal or the top coat of nail polish, locking the feeling and taste of Phil's lips to Dan's.
"Stay here tonight. I don't want you walking home in the dark." Phil spoke softly. Lost in his heightened senses, all Dan could manage to do was nod.

Phil's parents were nice and didn't mind him staying as they knew about the series of kidnappings that had been plaguing the town. Phil led Dan up to his room and Dan dropped his school bag that he had been carrying all day on the floor.
Phil let Dan borrow some of his clothes to sleep in and, to Dan's pleasant surprise, he let him sleep in his bed.
Weeks ago he could have never guessed that he would end up in Phil's bed. He wanted to keep Phil's trust, so he made sure to give him some space. Nothing would happen tonight, the kiss was enough for Dan. He fell asleep next to the love of his life with a grin on his face and the lingering, tingling feeling of Phil's lips in his dreams.

The next morning they woke up to an alarm clock. Dan groaned into a hard, lumpy surface and opened his eyes to find he had cuddled into Phil's chest in his sleep. He tried to move so he wouldn't freak Phil out, but Phil had his arms around him holding him in place.
"Good morning." Phil mumbled in his hair. He yawned and pulled him closer for a few moments, before reaching over and turning off the alarm.
"Good morning." Dan replied in his croaky morning voice.
"I really don't want to go to school today." Phil groaned. Dan noticed how deep Phil's morning voice was, it was incredibly sexy to say the least.
"Same. Let's just lay here all day."
"Mmmhmm." Phil agreed.
"Wow you're already a bad influence on me." Phil laughed.
"You don't know how bad of an influence you are on me, Phil." Dan replied darkly. He was already half asleep again and not very aware of what he was saying.
"What do you mean?" Phil lifted his head slightly.
"Nothing. Let's just go back to sleep." Dan mumbled.
