Phil said I love you.

Dan was laying in his bed on Saturday evening next to Phil and all he could think about was the Friday 2 weeks before. Everything was perfect, Dan couldn't help himself. He had blurted out his confession and Phil returned his feelings. Somehow, for some reason, Phil loved him back. They came out with their relationship at school and the group took Dan in with open arms and congratulations. Everything had come together in Dan's favor and he was on top of the world. He even found himself doing a small dance on his way to school every day just thinking about how great everything was going with Phil.

The school and town had swiftly mourned the loss of yet another student, but the cops still had no leads on the case. This was the first time a teenager had been abducted from their home and everyone was a little more on edge, including Phil. This was only good news for Dan as Phil insisted on going to Dan's house to 'study' after school every day.

Dan held his computer in his lap as Phil cuddled next to him. He could tell by his soft snores that their Netflix binge had put him to sleep. Dan sighed, contented, and pushed Phil's fringe out of his eyes. He closed his eyes to join his lover in a peaceful sleep before he felt his phone vibrate. He carefully, without disturbing Phil, reached down and fished his phone out of his pocket. It was a text from Cat.

Cat: I think I'm ready for my first kill alone.

Dan looked down to check if Phil was still sleeping before texting back.

Dan: if you're absolutely sure, I agree.

Dan shut off his phone and shoved it in his pocket. He felt Phil stirring next to him.

"How long was I asleep?" Phil groaned.

"Just about an hour, love." Dan said, kissing Phil's temple.

"Mmm what time is it?" Phil asked, rubbing his eyes.

Dan checked the clock on his laptop.

"6pm."

Phil yawned and pushed himself out of the bed.

"I've got to go. I promised my parents I'd go out to eat with them at some restaurant."

Dan nodded and pushed his laptop to the side to show Phil out.

Cat glanced at her watch once more before hearing footsteps at exactly the time they should be there. The sun was steadily lowering and the alleyway was growing ever colder and darker. She pulled her hoodie on and sunk back into the wall, groaning loudly and holding her arm. The footsteps came closer before stopping at her feet.

"Ma'am are you alright?" A high pitched voice asked. Cat gripped the syringe in her pocket and pounced in the direction of the voice. She caught the girl off guard and pinned her to the floor. The girl quickly kneed her in the gut and her grip loosened as she dropped the syringe. The girl screamed and Cat panicked, not seeing where the syringe rolled off to. She knew she needed the screaming to stop so she thought fast and pounced again, this time catching the girl in a headlock.

Cat reached into her back pocket and took out her small, sharp, knife. She sliced it across the girl's throat and her screaming finally stopped. Cat stood up and looked down at the body in horror. All that could be heard was Cat's heavy breathing and the dripping of the blood from her blade.
