"Helen?" Bessie said in shock.

"Beatrice Samantha Jones! Is that any way to greet your mother?" Helen said with her hands on her hips.

"Why are you here?" Bessie asked coldly.

"I am here to see my youngest daughter and her children who are my grandchildren," Helen said as she pushed past Bessie to get into the house.

"My Bessie Boo! Your house is so perfect for you!" Helen said in awe.

"Don't call me that," Bessie said trying to pull Helen out of the door.

"You are having a party, correct? Well I must meet all of your friends and this boyfriend of yours," Helen said freeing herself from Bessie's grasp and walked toward the sound of laughter.

"Hello everyone," Helen said as she walked into the room full of merry people.

"Um, hi," Harry said to the stranger standing in the threshold.

"Everyone, this is my mother, Helen," Bessie said in discussed.

That moment the resemblance between Helen and Bessie became clear. Helen's hair was dyed blonde but you could see her orange roots. Helen's skin was tight from plastic surgery. She had grey eyes too, but Bessie's were less fierce and demanding. Bessie's grey eyes were soft and gentle, nothing like Helen's. Heavy makeup covered Helen's freckles, the only makeup Bessie wore was a little mascara. That was all she really needed. Her face was flawless.

"Oh, you're Helen," Ell said in even more disgust.

There was soon a rapid knock at the door breaking the awkward silence.

"I'll get it," Bessie said dashing out of the room.

When Bessie opened the door, it revealed a panicked and out of breath Kevin.

"Liz, Helen is back," Kevin breathed out.

Bessie opened the door more so he could hear Helen's obnoxious laugh from the other room.

Kevin's sholder's dropped as he realized that he was too late.

"Why don't you come in. I need someone to keep me back from attacking her," Bessie said through clenched teeth.

"I'm afraid that I won't be much help. I would end up joining you I'm afraid," Kevin laughed.

"Would you like some strong liquor?" Bessie asked as she pulled out Ringo's 'secret' stash of vodka.

"That would be the most brilliant idea today," Kevin sighed.

Bessie poured them each a small, small, glass of the vodka and they downed it in seconds.

"Shall we?" Kevin asked holding out his arm.

"We shall," Bessie said as she took his arm.

They walked into the awkward oozing room.

Helen was flirting with Zayn, Harry and Ell were downing all the wine, Niall was back inside standing in the corner, Louis was absorbed in what he was doing on his phone, and Liam just stood there. Harry's face got red the moment he saw Bessie linking arms with Kevin.

"Momma! Robert pulled my hair!" Lacie cried running to her mom for protection.

"I did not!" Robert defended.

Bessie took Lacie in her arms and tried to calm her crying child.

Once Helen saw the two kids, she got up from her seat and walked over to where they were.

Kneeling down to Robert, Helen said, "Hello Bobby. You have gotten so big! And little Lacie May! You aren't carrying around that filthy blanket anymore! Oh! I've missed ya'll sooooo much!"

"Momma, who is that lady?" Robert asked tugging on Bessie's skirt.

"This lady is your grandmother Bobby! You do not speak to me that way!" Helen yelled at Robert as she grabbed his arm roughly.

Robert started to cry too. Kevin yanked Helen away from Robert causing an evil glare from Helen.

"Helen! Stop!" Bessie said as she sat down to take both kids in her arms.

Harry came to Bessie's side and held Lacie close to his chest as she watched the fight.

"Elizabeth! If you call me Helen one more time I will whip you!" Helen said as she got right in Bessie's face.

Though Helen was like the devil when she gets angry, Bessie did not move. She just stared into the eyes of her so called mother.

"Beeeeeets!!! I'm here to take the kids!" Ringo sang as he walked in.

"Richard!" Helen said in shock and embarrassment.

"Oh. Hello Helen," Ringo said coldly.

"Dad, can you please take the kids now? They are a little frightened and need to go to your place," Bessie said as she handed the still crying Robert to Ringo.

"Sure sweetie," Ringo said as he lead the scared kids out of the house after he gave an encouraging kiss on the forehead.

"Why don't you ever let me take care of them for a night?" Helen asked offended.

"Because they're scared of you, you tried to take them away from me, you would probably hit them, and I do not trust you," Bessie spat out.

"Bessie, don't talk to your mother that way," Helen said angrily.

"You do not talk to me in that manner in my own house," Bessie said back.

"This may be your house but you are still my daughter," Helen barked back.

"No, no. You lost me the moment you decided to hit me to make me stop crying when I was just four. I am not your daughter. I am Ringo's daughter. You should never have been a mother. I was a better mother than you by just not drinking while pregnant," Bessie strongly whispered back.

Helen's face grew bright red as she clenched he fist.

Suddenly, Helen slapped Bessie across the mouth. Bessie just stood there with her face still turned from the hit.

Bessie calmly but forcefully said, "Get out."

"Fine," Helen said, "but I will be back for my grandchildren."

Helen then stormed out of the room slamming the door behind her.

"You have Olivia's kid to look after. You don't need mine," Bessie said weakly to Helen as she left.

"Awkward," Louis said once silence filled the room again.
