What was I causing? More and more I wished I had died in the arena. I couldn't wait to come home and, hopefully, convince Finnick he didn't love me. I was trouble, put in human form. Nothing like this ever happened at home. A couple guys had liked me over the course of my life, but nothing serious had come out of it. Maybe a kiss or two, nothing more. And here was Finnick, known for being a womanizer, going after me. For the life of me, I couldn't tell if it was just him trying to get with me for a night or if he was serious.
After that, I remember going home. But instead of going to my home, I went to this huge mansion "Victors Village" as it was called. For whatever silly reason, my parents felt that since I was nearly 18, I might as well live there alone anyway. So there I was, stuck in an unusually large house all by myself. The neighborhood was very populous though, but still Finnick was the only one I trusted. Yet, I didn't want to be near him. In many ways I didn't trust him, as a matter of fact. But I trusted him more than the other victors.
It was one particular night that Finnick became my housemate, in a sense. He was in the house closest to mine. I had the window of my room opened and I sketched in one of my many notebooks. I was putting too much detail into an apple. When right before my eyes, was Romos.
"Annie." He said, as he walked towards me. His head fell off his body and rolled onto the floor. Blood spattered every which way, his head stopping at my feet.
"It should have been you. I should live here. This is my house. My life. You should have died." His head told me. The ground changed from the wooden flooring and into dirt. My sundress became my arena clothes, and when I looked up I wasn't in my dark shadowed room. I was in the Games. The sun hitting my face. A sword at my throat.
I was suddenly thrown back onto the arenas ground, by her. She was holding me on top of her body.
"ANNIE WHAT THE HELL?!" I could hear Finnick scream. The sword followed me down.
"Do it." I whispered to the girl with golden hair who had just taken Romos head off.
"Annie" she spoke with Finnick's voice.
"Just do it! You did it to him. Why leave me?"
"What are you talking about?" she asked, still in Finnick's voice.
"How are you doing that? Why do you sound like Finnick? AND WHY AREN'T YOU KILLING ME? My head is right here. Go ahead."
"Annie? What's going on?"
"What? Want me to put up a fight? Here!" I yelled and forced myself through her arms. Her eyes lit up as she stood.
"Calm down."
"How are you doing that? STOP IT. KILL ME!" I threw a rock at her face, hoping it would anger her. She stood there like it was nothing.
"KILL ME. CUT OFF MY HEAD." I threw another rock.
"Stop it Annie." How was she speaking just like Finnick? It made me angrier.
"Don't you wanna win? Don't you want to go home? KILL ME. Do it. Kill me. Right here. Right now."
"Annie, I don't want to kill you."
"Bullshit. You wouldn't be here if you didn't. You wouldn't have killed him."
"Annie please..."
"STOP DOING THAT! You're a girl. Let me hear your real voice. Kill me while you're at it." She stood in silence and I threw more rocks.
"Fine. If you won't do it I will. I have a knife."
"NO ANNIE!" She screamed in Finnick's voice.
