Alex POV

After hearing Ricks wolf howl, I knew that he would more than likely sit there sulking so I decided to walk back instead of running. I knew that I had enough time to myself to think.
I knew that I had hurt him and I know that but, he had hurt me twice as much. You want to know why my wolf told me to run when I found out I was pregnant with River? He told me to run because of him letting all those people beat me and cut me.
He treated me amazingly. He held me and cuddled me and made me fell so different from what I had been treated my entire life, and then his friends found out and they beat me so bad that I couldn't walk, speak, lift anything or even open my eyes. All I could do was hear everything that was happening around me. Before you go thinking "if you couldn't open your eyes how did you know he was there?" on me, you should know that a werewolves senses go to the max when his mate is nearby. I could sense him there and fell him but, I also saw him standing at the back. No tears were in his eyes, no emotion was there either. He just let them beat me so bad.
Because of him letting them do that to me, I nearly lost River and if I had then I wouldn't be alive today. I was ready then to just end it all. Maybe even go rouge. However, the moment that the pack doctor had told me I was pregnant I knew that the little ball of life growing inside of me was going to be the thing to save me.
So how dare he ask me where I have been for the past year and one month. How dare he.
I could feel the tears dripping down my cheeks as all the memories came flooding back. The memories that I had tried ever so hard to hide away. Trust me I had tried everything and they were still there.
"You belong to this pack!" Was all I suddenly heard from behind me. I turned round so fast that I nearly fell over my own feet.
There stood Rick, his eyes glowing bright blue and his sharp pointed canine teeth showing as he snarled his mouth, he had also tensed his muscles up to show just how much of an alpha he really was. That was then when I was scared for my life. This is why I never wanted him to know about River and why I never wanted him to be apart of it either.
"Leave me alone Rick!" I shouted as I started to sprint for my life. I could hear him rushing behind me, following my every move. I was always that little bit faster than Rick because I wasn't as muscular as he was, don't get me wrong I have some muscle but I have enough to help me run like I am now and to fight when I need to.
"GET HERE NOW!!!" I heard Rick growl out as he was slowly catching up to me. That just made me run faster.
"No. Just ..." I never got to finish that sentence as I was forced to the ground. I somehow managed to bang my head on something, because the next thing I know everything went black.
