Josh's Pov:

there's two people in the world who I trust with everything and tell everything to, Jenna and my brother Jordan.

I need to talk to someone about my afternoon with tyler and how I'm going to tell Jenna.

since it's about Jenna, she's not an option.

I decide to text Jordan and see if I can video chat with him.

Jordan and I have this thing where we both have each other as "JDun" to mess with people who look at our messages because we have the same initials.

JDun(me) : hey are you busy?

JDun : i'm not, what's up?

JDun(me) : let's video chat bc I've had a weird two days.

JDun : haha alright, i'm ready for the gossip

JDun is video calling...

I click the accept button and my brother's face appears on the screen. "hey what's up?" he says.

"so there's this popular kid named Tyler who everyone including Jenna are obsessed with"

"everyone, but you?" he says with a smirk.

"yes, and we have language arts together, but he's never noticed us, and the day after the basketball half time he comes up to me and, THE BASKETBALL HALF TIME! "

"what?"

"he's like this basketball star i guess, and my drumline performed at the basketball game Friday, the following Monday he asked to be my partner"

"maybe he thought you were cool, or maybe he plays drums too, or wants to learn?"

"huh I didn't even think about that, anyways, I agreed to be his partner to like talk to him about Jenna and try to convince him to ask her on a date"

"ok go on"

"so he waited for me at baseball practice and he met Ashley and-"

"wait she still goes to your baseball practices? dude that's dedication"

"I know, anyways when we were at home, he asked me if I was dating Ashley and I was like no but like, why does he even care if I was? you know? then when I tried to talk to him about Jenna he told me he was gay and that if I like her so much why don't I date her, and he saw the drawings of him I drew for Jenna, by my bed and he wasn't totally freaked out, he thought they were cool"

"does he know that you're gay too?"

"well now he does, I told him after the Jenna thing and then he asked me if I had a boyfriend and I said no, and he met mom and she told him he was welcome whenever, and he told me that he wants to hang out and that he'll text me but like why does he want to be my friend all of a sudden?"

"Josh.." he laughs

"what?"

"he saw you at the basketball game, and wanted to be your partner, asked if you had a boyfriend after he found out you're gay, met mom, and wants to hang out? he totally has it in for you!"

"w-what? nooo"

wait, is Tyler interested in me?

"he totally does! Josh, he wants to hang out with you, equals he wants to go on dates with you, and I think you should go for it"

"no, I think you're crazy. I'm pretty sure he just thinks i'm cool or something, i'm probably not even his type, he's not even my type. he's like popular and stuff"

"so what if he's popular? he saw you and went for it"

"even if I did want to go on a date with him, i'm not saying I do, but, Jenna is like in love with him what am I going to say? hey the guy you like is gay also I think i'm going on a date with him?"

"you just tell her that she's not his type because he's gay, but you like him as a friend so you're going to continue talking to him, and if Tyler asks you on a date and uses the word date you tell her"

"uh ok I gue-" I'm cut off by a notification sound.

I look at my phone.

it's a text from Tyler

Tyler : hey sorry if you're sleeping, Let's hang out tomorrow! I got two free passes for the skating rink! ok well let me know by tomorrow, I'll let you sleep, goodnight Joshua(: x

"it's Tyler! what did he say?!"

"no it's just a dumb Twitter notification" I try to lie

"Josh, you're blushing through the computer screen, what did he say?!"

"he asked me to go skating with him tomorrow"

"what did you say!!?"

"I didn't answer I want him to think i'm sleeping" I look at the clock realizing its almost 12

i'm guessing Jordan notices the time too. "well I guess we should be sleeping but I better get a phone call tomorrow telling me about your date with Tyler, because you're going to say yes, goodnight, love you tell mom I said I love her too byeee!"

he ends the call before I can even reply because he knows I'd try to make an excuse to not go skating with Tyler.

would it really be so bad to go on a date with Tyler Joseph?

I'll go but I'll make sure he knows I just want be friends.
