tyler's pov

this is it.

graduation is tomorrow.

i talked to my parents and they said i could move out.

they helped me find a place that's not too far from home.

i want to ask joshua to move with me.

i have to ask his mom if it's okay first.

i'm kind of scared because josh is all she has.

their dad has jordan, my parents have each other, and she has josh.

their parents are giving it another shot but they still live in different houses because of work and stuff.

but i really want this.

i sigh.

i've been sitting in josh's drive way for 15 minutes now.

i finally get out of my car and knock on the door.

"oh hi tyler, josh isn't here right now but he's going to be here in an hour you can wait here if you want."

"i actually came to talk to you."

"oh, um okay, well come in"

we sit in josh's living room.

"i'm in love with your son."

"i've noticed."

"i'm also dating him."

"i assumed you were too close to be just best friends."

"so you're okay with it?"

"yes, tyler, you're like a son to me"

"okay, um well i don't know how to ask this but um can i ask joshua to move out with me, i have a job and the place isn't that far and i have a basketball scholarship so my school is payed for, and i promise to make him come visit yo-"

"okay"

"wait, what?"

"you can ask him to move with you, but you have to promise to take care of him and give him lots of attention if he starts acting even just a little weird make sure you ask him questions and make sure that he's okay, and make sure he visits me often."

"thank you so so much ms dun!" i give her a hug

"i'll see you tomorrow!" i yell as i run home to finish packing.

.

graduation ceremonies are always so boring, like why can't they just give you your diploma and let you leave and never see any of these annoying people ever again.

josh was one of the first people to get their diploma because they call you by last name.

"tyler robert joseph"

finally.

i go up and shake the principal's hand.

after everyone's name has been called they give another speech and they tell us to move our tassels.

"congratulations!"

everyone throws their hats up high.

i throw mine like an inch above my head because i don't want to lose it.

after the ceremony our parents take pictures of us and friends and i take pictures with my basketball team.

"hey josh?"
