It had been a couple of days since me and Troye shared our "moment" on the roof. I had been up there with Ricky to talk things out. All of us went up there, Ricky, Troye and I, it was amazing we talked like we had been friends for years. Me and Ricky told our stories, Troye didn't though. He didn't talk much when that topic was brought up.

Tonight the staff wanted to cheer us up. So we had a karaoke night! Yay! Not. I walked into the gathering room. I had my sweat pants on and a maroon t-shirt, for once not afraid of my scars. I walked into see a stage and two microphones.
••••••••••••
I sat in the middle watching people go up there sing a depressing song that describes them and walk off crying. I was waiting there. Until I heard a familiar voice. "I wanna go" I heard Troye yell from the back. "Ok Troye come on up! What song?" Ruth asked. My own. He had keyboard and small drums. He sat down placing everything in front him. He picked up the mic.
"In the crowd, alone
And every second passing
Reminds me I'm not home
Bright lights and city sounds
Are ringing like a drone
Unknown, unknown
Oh glazed eyes, empty hearts
Buying happy from shopping carts
Nothing but time to kill
Sipping life from bottles...."
And so it went on his voice was amazingly beautiful I lost track of time. "Can Connor come to the stage." He said stopping the song. I awkwardly walked on stage not knowing what else to do. He gave me a mic. "It's what I sang that night." I instantly remembered, he knew that because he started the music.
"Tight skin body guards," we sang together.
"Gucci down the boulevard,
Cocanine, dollar bills and
My happy little pill
Take me away
Dry eyes
Bring colour to my skies
My sweet little pill
Take my hunger
Light within
Numb my skin." We sang the music stopped and we smiled at each other. A real genuine smile. Everyone clapped as we exited the stage.
