Simon's POV

"Simon." Is whispered into my cell, causing my eyes to flutter open.

"Hm?" I sit up, rubbing my eyes.

I blink the sleepy haze away, seeing it was doctor Olatunji.

"C'mere for a second." He whispers again, unlocking my cell.

I furrow my brows, but slowly nod, standing from my bed and shuffling towards the dark male.

"What time is it?" I mumble, and he purses his lips.

"Two am." He chuckles quietly, and I chuckle softly, my face still in a frown.

"Why have you woke me now? Aren't you supposed to be at home? And why the hell-"

"Shut it for a minute, the guards are sleeping. Follow me." He hisses lowly, and I nod, following the slightly shorter doctor away from my cell.

We slowly creep down the hall, past the guards in a slumber against a chair, and into his office. He slowly opens and closes his door, leaving me stood by the exit as he shuffles around his desk, opening and closing drawers.

"I've woken you because I need to ask and show you something that requires no one to see. And I chose you because I know you're innocent and I know you will leave this shithole one way or another, even if everyone else is sure you are the killer." He mutters, and I feel my breath hitch.

"How do you know I'm innocent? Did you discover the real-"

"Yes, Simon, I did." He nods, before grabbing the keys in the final drawer.

"Let's go, I'll chat while we go." He ushers us out the door, before leading me towards our unknown destination.

"Do you know Josh Zerker?" He blurts, and I feel my heart race at his name.

"Yeah, he's my nurse." I admit with a small smile, and he turns around, eyes squinting in confusion.

"What? Aren't you in the second half of the cell block?" He mumbles, pushing through a door quietly, guiding me through before shutting it and continuing down the next corridor.

"Yeah, him and Tobi switched because Sandy died." I inform him, and he nods.

"Josh was crushed by her death, you know. Josh is passionate about his job. He loves taking care of people and making sure they are okay. He also just thinks that the patients are just human who had a rough time and shouldn't be punished here, which I, to some degree, can agree with." He explains, and I feel my lips curl into a smile.

"He's truly amazing." I sigh quietly, causing him to chuckle softly.

"So you have your eye on him as well?" He smirks, looking over his shoulder slightly.

"Well.. On the day we went to the library, we.. We um.. We nearly kissed... On top of that, we both discovered we had something for each other." I blurt quietly, and he gasps, stopping dead in his tracks and turning around.

He goes to speak, but the sound of the far door opening causes us both to freeze.

"Hello? Who's down there? You aren't supposed to be down here!" A voice calls down the hall, a flashlight soon illuminating the dark hallway.

"Run." He squeaks, before jolting down the hallway.

I pick up my legs and begin to follow the shadow in front of me, following him around corners as footsteps echo behind us.
