Josh's POV

:three hours later- 20:00:

Shuffling echoes off the walls, peaking my senses. Simon and I were sat across from each other, his eyebrows furrowed as the figure soon appears in front of me- Jide.

"Hey." He smiles, and I stand, a smile painting my lips.

"Hi." I respond.

He reaches into his pocket, pulling out a pocket knife and a pistol.

"Which one d'you want?" He mumbles.

"Knife." I mutter, and he slips it through the bars.

"You guys ready?" He asks as he approaches Simon, both of us nodding, my body pumping with anticipation.

"Right.. I forgot to mention something.." He starts as he reproaches me.

"Hm?" I hum, my body soon flooding with worry.

"When, you know, we cut the power and that, all cells and doors will be unlocked." He explains, and I chuckle.

"Yeah Jide-"

"That means cell block C as well." He cuts me off, and I freeze, before shrugging.

"And what." I brush it off, and he huffs.

"You have to go near cell block C. And you know how those people are. If plan A fails, you're left with plan B, and that goes through cell block C. Do you understand what I'm saying?

Guards are going to be everywhere, spreading like flies. They are gonna try to contain these patients. You need to be on high alert." He informs me in a low tone, his eyes deadly serious.

"O-okay." I choke, nodding.

"Right.. It's been a good run. I wish you two all the best." He nods towards me, then waves to Simon.

"Thanks Jide." We mutter under out breaths.

His shoes scuff against the floor as he leaves, a small hum ringing through the air and fading out the further he walks.

"You ready babe?" I ask quietly, and he nods.

"More than ever."

:four hours later- 23:58:

"Any minute now baby." I mutter lowly, the mumbled sound of people's light breathing surrounding us.

Simon was rubbing his hands together anxiously, fiddling with his fingers as he took slow, steady breaths.

I began to count the seconds in my head. A watch sat loosely on my wrist- my mothers. Tobi managed to slip the thin golden watch into my pocket when we last embraced.

Simon's eyes slowly wander, his breaths turning into rapid, shallow ones.

"Calm." I mutter.

Then the hallways go black.

I gasp, hearing all the doors unlock with a click.

I stand with shaky legs, adrenaline already pumping through my body as my arms pull the heavy door open ever so slightly.

The halls were silent other than Simon opening his cell door, until audible murmur began to rise within the cells.

In a matter of seconds, it was chaos.

Doors were sliding open and hitting the wall with a bang, people running and screaming in the dark.

My breathing picked up as I walk towards Simon, the pocket knife heavy in my hand.
