Talent show surprises

The next week was filled with rumors and "false information." Rin answered any questions her fellow classmates had, like if it was real or not. She and Len both always said no, and most kids believed them. But Neru and her group of "friends" kept spreading rumors, and even said things about it online.

Len sat on his bed, teary eyed while looking through old photos. Rin walked in the room with two glasses of juice, a banana, and an orange. She sat on the bed next to her brother and handed him the glass and the banana. "Thanks..." Len mumbled. Rin noticed the slight crack in his voice. "What's the matter?" She asked. Len shook his head and handed her the photo. It was a picture of two beautiful blondes posing formally in front of the camera. They both had the same bright smile and silky blonde hair. The female had slightly darker hair than the male, and the male had darker eyes. Rin observed the photo closely then flipped it over and read the back.
"Rinto and Lenka Kagamine. December 21st, 2001. It's mom and dad..." Rin smiled and tried to hold back a few forming tears in her eyes.

Rin adjusted the headphones on her head and smoothed out her dress for the 20th time in the last 5 minutes.
"Why am I so nervous? I've performed infront of countless people before and just now I'm getting stage fright?" Rin asked nobody in particular.
Len stood on the other side of the stage just as nervous. They were about to go on, as the first act of the show. He peeked out of the curtains on the side of the stage and saw Luka and Gakupo in the crowd. Of course they had to have front row. Luka had to bring her video camera. They had to show up first. Always.

"Welcome to Higashi Koko's talent show! Our first act of tonight will be a duet of the well known Kagamine twins. Everyone give them a warm welcome!" The announcer walked off stage as the crowd cheered and clapped for them. The twins made eye contact as they walked on stage.
"Those are my kids!" Some guy cheered from the back. Rin thought it was probably Kaito being stupid just to make them feel better performing.
The first notes of the music played, and Rin felt herself zone out into her dance mode.

The twins stood on stage as the song ended and the room filled with silence.
The crowd suddenly burst into a huge standing ovation.
Rin and Len bowed and fast walked off stage and was tackled into hugs by Miku, Teto, Gumi, Kaito, and Gakupo.
"Wha– oh thank you guys so much!" Rin thanked them. "Hey, no problem!" Gumi leaned against the wall trying to be cool, then accidentally slipped and fell onto her butt. "Ow." Was the only thing she said before everyone backstage burst into laughter.
Len felt a tap in his shoulder and he turned and saw Luka with tears in her eyes. "You two were so wonderful! I'm so proud of you two." Luka started. "I have a surprise waiting for you when you get home tonight okay?" Luka said. They both nodded and smiled, holding hands while they walked down the hall and into the crowd to take their seats to enjoy the rest of the show.
