Pete did not like Ben.

Ben was one of Patrick's best friends outside of the band. and everyone who knew him, including Patrick, all thought that he was such a great guy.

but Pete?

Pete did not like Ben.

Now, Pete loved to have a laugh, but this guy's humour was not funny to Pete. Ben liked to flirt with Patrick quite a lot, and Patrick would always laugh it off and tell him to shut up, but Ben kept at it. and Patrick didn't mind, he thought it was just a joke. but Pete didn't like the way Ben looked at patrick. no one is allowed to look at Patrick like that.

and yes, it may be true that Pete and Patrick weren't technically dating, but that didn't stop Pete from being head over heels in love with Patrick. and so when some other guy started looking at Patrick a certain way, Pete took an immediate disliking to that guy. and in some instances, although Pete isn't proud to admit it, he has told a few guys (e.g in a club or at an after party in a show) that Patrick isn't single, isn't interested, and once Pete told some guy that Patrick was straight. Pete struggled keeping a straight face (yes pun intended) whilst telling the guy, but he did it.

anyway, back to Ben.

the band is currently at some loud party in LA, probably Brendon Urie's house, and Ben has showed up. and he is immediately chumming up to Patrick, right in front of Pete.

oh, hell no.

Ben had an arm around Patrick's waist, and when Pete saw, he had to clench his jaw to stop him from losing it and screaming at this guy.
Patrick was smiling, rolling his eyes occasionally, so Pete kept his cool. He didn't want to make a scene. Patrick didn't entirely know about Pete's feelings, so he 100% did not blame Patrick. it was kind of his own stupid fault really. he should say something. he should. he's going to. Pete had decided. he's going to quickly say something and-

Ben then leans over to Patrick and starts whispering in Patrick's ear, much too close.

wrong move, Ben. Now you're about to get fucked up.

before Pete could even stop and think about what he was about to do, almost involuntarily, Pete was swinging a mean punch directly into bens jaw. and damn, that hurt like a bitch, so he can't even begin to imagine the pain Ben is in right now.

again, Pete was not proud to admit that the thought of Ben in pain gave him some satisfaction.

"WHAT THE FUCK?" Ben shouted. he was on the floor, holding his jaw, staring up at Pete and glaring daggers into him.
Pete's fist was still clenched, and he slowly let his hand go loose. he looked around to see the kitchen area had gone quiet, his outburst obviously noticeable. Patrick had gone silent, his hands covering his mouth, his eyes switching between looking down at Ben and looking up at Pete.
everyone was stood there staring. and Pete had no excuse. well he did, but he didn't want to share it with everyone.

so Pete did the only thing he could think of. he grabbed the nearest vodka bottle, and walked out. out of the kitchen, down the hall, out the door, and down the road. he had gotten a ride with Andy, who was currently somewhere else in the house, and Pete couldn't be bothered to find him. so Pete just walked away, taking the occasional swig of the bottle. he hadn't really got a good look at his choices, so he had ended up picking up a caramel flavoured vodka. dear god, that had a kick to it. it smelt like caramel, but there was an undeniable smell of fucking window cleaner? or some shit?? kind of like bleach?? who the fuck knows. but that was some nasty shit.

while Pete was contemplating his choice of vodka, he had managed to find his neighbourhood. it took him like an hour, but he was home.
and as he got closer to his house, he noticed the car parked outside his house, and the figure stood beside it.

Patrick was waiting for him. and he looked pissed.

well. fuck.
