"hey princess"
Pete whispered, sitting down next to Patrick.

Patrick's eyes widened, but his voice failed him, so he just smiled (and blushed profusely). the music in the house party was loud, but Pete and Patrick were so close, they could hear each other just fine.

the living room was crowded, and Patrick wasn't quite sure why he had came. perhaps it was the pleading look in joe's eyes when he asked him to come with, perhaps it was the fact that he had nothing better to do on a Friday night, or perhaps it was simply the idea of booze. Patrick liked booze. it helped him forget a lot of things.

however tonight, the alcohol did not let Patrick forget the huge crush he had on pete wentz.
the boy sat right next to him.

"I thought I'd come join you, is that ok?"

Pete was flashing his movie star smile, and Patrick was having to restrain himself from literally swooning. Patrick nodded. pete smiled again, and leant in to whisper a few more little things in Patrick ear, and Patrick was blushing more and more.

"I didn't want a pretty little thing like you sat here all on your own, now would I?"

Patrick's cheeks went pink again, and he was almost in a state of shock. what was Pete wentz doing talking to him?! surely he should be off talking to people in Pete's own league, people with similar movie star smiles and gorgeous faces and matching gorgeous bodies. but instead, Pete was talking to Patrick?

Pete could have anyone in that room, and Patrick was pretty sure that Pete knew that. yet just as Patrick was about to question why Pete was sat next to him, Pete turned to Patrick again.

"you see, I saw you whilst I was stood over there, and I just couldn't help myself. I had to come sit next to you."

Pete said, his stunning coffee brown eyes staring straight into Patrick's ocean blue ones.

Patrick looked down, desperately trying to conceal his blush.

"c'mon now, don't be shy, it's only me?" Pete laughed lightly, but when Patrick looked back into his eyes there was a serious sincerity there.

Pete's award winning smile then returned as he whispered again,
"can I tell you something?" whilst looking at Patrick hopefully.
Patrick decided it was time to actually use his voice.
"of course"
Patrick was slightly embarrassed at the shakiness, but Pete didn't seem to notice. or he just didn't mind.

Pete then pulled Patrick onto his lap. Patrick was blushing furiously at this point, but Patrick didn't know that Pete found it adorable.
so pete told him.

"you're adorable" Pete whispered, his hot breath grazing against Patrick's neck. Patrick smiled, but shook his head in disagreement.

"are you kidding? Patrick you better be kidding" Pete said, and Patrick laughed, before replying,
"not kidding. sorry. It's not true"
Patrick was still smiling, but Pete's smile had faded.

Patrick then felt a huge ball of anxiety in his stomach and he was terrified. somehow he had just angered or upset Pete, and now Pete probably hates him and never wants to talk to him again. Patrick then realised he was still sat on Pete's lap, firmly in Pete's grip, and Pete was probably about to beat him up, and oh my god what if he does it in front of everyone?

Pete then stood up, with Patrick still in his arms. Patrick squeaked slightly, which made Pete whisper something quickly before pacing through the house with Patrick.

"hang on baby"

the nickname made Patrick's heart melt, and he still couldn't believe Pete was carrying him bridal style through the house.
Normally, Patrick would have cared about all the people who noticed and were probably wondering what the hell Pete and Patrick were up to.
but in that moment, he didn't.
he didn't care.
all patrick could see was Pete's goofy smile,
all Patrick could feel was Pete's shirt that he was clinging onto and Pete's strong arms around Patrick's body, and all Patrick could think was "I am being carried by Pete wentz through a house that I've never been to before and will probably never come to again"

and Patrick's brain just could not process the chain of events that had occurred in the last five minutes. so he started laughing. he started laughing and he didn't care about the people who saw and he didn't care about the people who didn't and he didn't care where Pete was taking him and he didn't care what time it was and he didn't care about whether he should be getting back, he didn't care. all he could see was Pete and all he could feel was Pete and he could think was pete and Patrick was the happiest he's been in a long time.
