Cocoon

And when we wake up before the Sun

We crawl out of our cocoons

And we get up and make some toast

Until we hear the crooning glow

And when we think before we speak

We hold each other’s hands

Our eyes look in opposite

Oh, how do we withstand?

I feel the notches in your spine

Twist and turn inside out

We try not to analyse

The thoughts our minds do spout

And so there’s no one in the house

And there’ll never be again
