Ava's Pov
The ride back to Jay's house was kind of an awkward silence. Londyn broke that by asking Jay about him and Gabi.
"It's nothing serious. We're just talking."
Just talking? He's still talking to her? I guess that kiss meant nothing to him. I just want to go home so I can prepare for school tomorrow. Prepare for all the drama in store for me with Gabi and her friends.
"Hey, can you just take me home? I'll get my clothes another time."
"What's wrong?" Jay asked me.
"Nothing. I just wanna go home." I was trying so hard not to cry.
"Ava," Londyn spoke, "we're already halfway to our house just come get your clothes right now. I want to show you something anyways."
"Okay, fine." The rest of the car ride remained silent.
When we arrived at Jay's house, I ran up to the room to gather all the clothes Londyn gave me. I heard whispering coming out of Jay's room again. I quietly walked out of the room I was in and listened the best I could.
"Jayden, you need to stop being so stupid! Isn't it obvious that Ava is hurt by you talking to Gabi? Did you not understand that when she kissed you?" Londyn was sternly talking to him.
"She doesn't seem very fazed by it... she told me she kissed me because she doesn't wanna lose me, not because she likes me."
Gosh, he is so stupid.
"You're so stupid Jayden. I'm not going to try to talk to you anymore. You're gonna lose her all together just by not knowing how she feels. You wanna lose a great girl, go ahead. But don't come crying to me when little miss Gabi breaks your heart." Londyn suddenly opened the door and caught me eavesdropping. I stood there in shock. I didn't want them to know I heard. Just then, she grabbed my arm and pulled me to her room.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to listen in on that conversation."
"You're fine. I knew you'd be listening." She laughed, "anyways, you really like my brother, don't you?"
"Yeah... I mean, I guess I do. I really didn't want to make any rash decisions this early into our friendship, and this is the exact reason why. I'm new here, I don't know who he has or had relationships with, I don't know who's in his life, who's more than a friend to him. You know? I wanted to wait until I got to know him better. That way I wouldn't feel so stupid when I do stuff like this." I tried to hold back tears, but they started pouring out.
"Ava, don't cry over him, okay? Jayden can be real hard headed at times, he doesn't really realize what he does. As for Gabi, she's going to try to start stuff with you no matter what. She sees you as a threat because you're way prettier than her and she knows that. Just wait until you get to school tomorrow, there might be other boys you start to show interest in. Keep your head up. Maybe he'll come to his senses, but don't get your hopes up. He likes to show out for his friends. He may treat you like a princess in private, but in public it's a whole different story. I'm not trying to sugarcoat anything, I'm sorry if I'm making things worse."
"No, you're not. If anything you're making me realize he's not worth it. I'm going home. I'll walk." I got up to walk out of her room and she didn't stop me, so I continued walking. When I got outside of her room, Jay was standing there. He heard everything.
"Ava, stop. Don't go." Jay pleaded with me.
"No, I'm leaving. Leave me alone." I ran down the steps and out the door. I didn't know which way my house was. I laughed to myself. I really need to learn California better. As soon as I reached a safe distance from Jay's house, I found a park to go to and decided to call Kyle.
"Hey, I'm at some park by Jay's house. Come get me. Please?"
"On my way, sit tight."
I hung up the phone and proceeded to sit down on a bench. I tried calling Avery, but no answer. This is so weird, this is the longest that I haven't talked to her. She's either mad at me for something I don't know about, or she's back with Neeko. So I sent her a text telling her to call me as soon as she could. I sat and waited for about 15 minutes hoping Kyle knew what park I was at. Then, he pulled up and got out of his car.
"Why are you sitting here and didn't have Jay or Londyn bring you home?" He asked.
"I don't wanna talk about it. I just wanna go home." I said with no emotion and got into the car.
"Hey, where's all your stuff you got today?" He asked me, noticing I didn't have any of my bags.
"Dang, I left them in Jay's car. I'll call Londyn later and have her bring them to me."
"Are you and Jay fighting or something? Is it because what happened at the mall?"
"Kind of, but like I said, I don't wanna talk about it right now." I pulled my phone out and put my headphones on and the rest of the car ride remained with nothing but my music playing in my ears.
We arrived home and I texted Londyn asking her to bring me my clothes. I went upstairs to get into something more comfortable. It felt like I've been away from my room for months, even though it's only been a day. I laid down in bed and drifted off to sleep.

I woke up about 4 hours later and went down to find something to eat. As I got to the kitchen, I noticed that nobody but Amanda was home.
"Hey, sweetie. What are you doing here?" She looked up from cooking and asked me.
"Uh... I live here. Where else would I be? Where's my dad?"
"I was just wondering. I thought you'd still be with Jay. He's out with Kyle. Don't ask where they went, they didn't tell me. Dinner will be done in a few."
I walked outside to get some fresh air. As I got out there, I saw Kyle and my dad standing by a car that I've never seen before. It was a hot pink Ferrari. It was so beautiful.
"What's this?" I walked towards the car.
"This is your brand new car." Kyle smiled at me.
"ARE YOU FORREAL?" I got so excited I couldn't hold it in.
"Yeah, hun. This is all yours." My dad smiled at me as he pulled me in for a hug.
I was speechless. I've never drove a nice car like this... I've never drove a car at all. Back in New York I took a taxi everywhere. I do have a license though, so there's no worries there.
"I told you I had a surprise for you once we got home... even though it's been a few hours since we've been here, but I wanted to let you get your beauty rest." Kyle smiled at me. I spent the next couple of hours test driving my new car around California with Kyle. When we got home, we ate dinner and then I went to bed prepared for whatever tomorrow would bring me
A/N: This chapter is short and sucky, but it's pretty much just a filler chapter. I have great content coming in the next few chapters. I promise :)
