It All Started With A Thud

Chapter Sixteen

~ Alex's Point of View ~

Mac was the first person to show up. And thank God she did, one more minute alone and I would've cried. I ran to the door and hugged her.
" Christian what did you do to her, " she asks.
" I didn't do anything. She's been like this ever since my parents left and I don't know why, " he replies.
" Your parents left already? No wonder she's acting this way. She's scared, she's been alone with you. I see the way you look at her. If I were her then I'd be scared to be alone with you too, " Mac says.

~ Christian's Point of View ~

When Mac told me that Alex was scared to be alone with me it made me feel like a monster. " Alex, I'm sorry. From now on I'll do everything to make sure to make sure you feel safe and sound. I just wish you would've told me, I spent the last twenty minutes thinking you hated me or something. "
" I don't hate you, " she says hugging me. I hold her close in my embrace and kiss her head. " I love you, " she says quietly.
" I love you too, " I say as I hold her tight then let go of her. She grabs my hands and I give her a small kiss on the lips.

       * le time skip to half an hour later *

        All of my friends from my old school showed all except one, my best friend Andy. When I see Alex and Mac together I think of Andy and I, he's the like the male version of Alex.
       Speaking of my friends Alex has been talking to them and she seems to be getting along with them except for my ex- girlfriend, Ashley. That was the one female friend that she didn't seem too thrilled about. She got along great with my other female friends maybe it's that Ashley was my last girlfriend before her but I find her jealousy to be adorable.
" You enjoying yourself? " I ask putting my arm around Alex.
" Yeah it's pretty cool. Your friends are awesome by the way, " she says placing her hand on my chest.
" I wish you could've met Andy you would've loved him, " I say.
" Yeah he sounded like a really cool guy, " she says leaning in closer.
" But that's okay as long as I have you that's all that matters, " I say pulling her close and kiss her.
" Nice move there, Romeo and who's Juliet over here? I'm sure you were planning on introducing us, " I heard a voice from behind me. Alex pulled away and look behind my shoulder.
I turned around and saw that right in front of me stood Andy. " Andy, it's great to see you, man, " I say.
" It's great to see you too, " he said. " So who's the chick? "
" Andy, this is my girlfriend, Alex. Alex, this is my best friend, Andy, " I say.
" So this is Andy well it's nice to meet you, " she goes to shake his hand but he pulls her in for a bro hug.
" The pleasure's all mine, " he chuckled.
" Hey buddy, she's my girlfriend, " I chime in.
" About that, when were you planning on telling us? " he asked.
" I didn't think you cared that much, " I replied.
" Well that's because I knew all of the other girls you've been with and none of them are like her, " he says eyeing Alex.
" She's mine stop eyeballing her, " I say smacking Andy.
" Hey, it's not my fault that you found an attractive girl for once, " he says.
" Will you two stop talking about me like I'm not here? " Alex interrupted, obviously annoyed.
" Sorry, I just want to get the idea that you're mine and to stay away from you through his head, " I say putting my arm around her.
" No problem dude I'm happy for you and I mean no offense, Alex you're really pretty but not as pretty as her, " he said turning his head to the other side of the room.
A big smile spread across Alex's face, " You mean, Mac? "
" You know her? " he asked.
" Yeah, she's my best friend, " she replies.
" Could you introduce me? " he asked.
Alex laughed quietly, " why not. "
