Aria's POV

Everyone stopped whatever they're doing with their eyes wide and their jaw still dropping. Devan's lower half had been left out cold. No one dared to move it or touch it. With time, blood pooled around the body and this is going to stink the place sooner or later.

"That's not even a punishment. That's a friggin death penalty." I gulped.

Nobody continued the game, they didn't want to. Who the hell would want to after seeing such a horrible scene?

"Blood...! BLOOD!! NOOOOO! I DON'T WANT TO PLAY! GET ME OUT OF HERE!!! LOOK AT THAT PUDDLE OF BLOOD! NOOO!!!" a girl desperately ran to the front door and banged onto it several times, "ANYBODY, PLEASE!!! HELP!!!"

'She must have a fear of blood.'

"No one will come to our rescue, Mai. We will have to play the game in order to satisfy Rainbow and maybe he's kind enough to let us go." a guy marched to her, tugging her by the arm.

"After witnessing all that? Are you insane, Bry? ARE YOU FREAKING INSANE? Rainbow is no sane guy. HE'LL NEVER LET US GO EVEN IF HE'S SATISFIED. HELL! Look at the rest of us, we're scared and terrified, Bry. How do you expect us to play after knowing what's waiting in line for us?" she cried frustratingly, some of us nodded, frowning their eyebrows.

"WE DON'T HAVE A CHOICE EITHER!" his harsh tone silenced her, "If we don't play the game, what could've happened to us then? If we follow his rule, there's at least a small percentage that we could survive." he let go of her arm and squatted, fisting a handful of his hair.

"What else can we do...? That's the only option we have left." he concluded.

"Let's just continue the game for now." another boy, Tabaki, rose from his seat, "Just pray that you'll get some easy questions and stay alive till the end."

"But wait! Wouldn't it be unfair if I'm the one who keeps on answering the questions whereas this guy over here, who has the role of questioning, can just relax as he knows that he doesn't have to face the consequences? I WANT TO BE THE ONE WHO ASK THE QUESTIONS! I don't want to die!" another boy debated, causing an uproar.

"He's right! I want to have that role too!!!"

"Me too!!!"

With that, they all started fighting over the roles. Too busy arguing and not noticing that they had stepped onto Devan's blood; tracing them all over the floor with his lower half being kicked around.

This is what happens when you lose your cool. All you care about is your own importance.

I stood aside, not wanting to get involved with them. I just didn't care anymore.

'I can't believe this. I didn't do anything wrong to be here. Why? Just why?'

I trembled till Bran held my hand and squeezed it, telling me that it's going to be alright.

Yeah sure. Everything's going to be FiNe.

"Don't worry for now, I'll try to convince everyone to plan things through later on." he whispered to me and stayed by me.

Ding Dong Ding DING!!!

"EVERYONE. STOP. NOW." Rainbow said threateningly.

The disputation stopped immediately, and everyone suddenly went back to their original seats without saying anything, resuming the game with total silence. It's as if they were casted a spell on.

--

"NO! NOOO!" another creature attacked.

"AHHHHHHHH!" weapons were shooting and striding toward its target.

Question by question and one after another, the number of students were slowly decreasing.

The amount of blood and dead corpses were building up. My heart sunk.

I prayed for my safety.

For Bran's too.

I swear this room's going to be flooded.
