Chapter Six: Trip Down Memory Lane

   I was at school when I first heard Demetri. She said, "Destiny, get out of the school right now." I said, "Why do i have to leave the school?" Everyone turned and looked at me, as did the teacher. The teacher said, "You don't have to leave the school Ms. Hayes. What gave you that idea." I said, "Didn't you tell me." He shook his head no. I looked around and saw everyone looking at me funny. I grabbed my stuff and ran out of the classroom. I heard the laughter of my classmates and I didn't want to be at the school right then. Next thing I know, I'm at home in my room. I curl up in a ball and don't move. My mom comes home and runs into my room. She asks, "Why did i get a call from school saying you left." I look up at her and say, "Everyone laughed at me." My mom saw i was crying and came over and held me. I said, "I heard someone tell me to get out of the school right now." My mom asked, "Who told you that?" I said, "I don't know mom. It wasn't anyone from class that's for sure. it wasn't the teacher and no one sits behind me because i'm in the l sat seat in our row." My mom nods and says, "Do you want to go to see Dr. Blackborn? He helped you when your dad never came back." I asked, "Does that mean i have to go to school?" My nods and says, "Sweetie you do have to go  to school. It's important." I nod and he says, "I'll make the appointment so you can head over right after school." I say quietly, "OK." She gets up and walks out of my room.

     The next day, I am at school and I hear a high-pitched sound and then Demetri's voice again, "Destiny get out of the school. People are watching you. They are dangerous." I say, "Who are you? What do you want? Leave me alone." Everyone is staring at me. Demetri says, "Destiny please just trust me and get out of there." I say, "Leave me alone. I don't know what you want." Everyone starts laughing and  pointing at me. I start crying. I know Luke isn't here today because all this week he is with his aunt. I forget where she lives. Everyone starts making fun of me. I run out of the school and into some trees. I don't want to be here. I want to be at home. I back up and instead of hitting a tree i fall back onto my bed. I get up and look around at my room. I realize now that if i am to not cry everyday i have to keep the voice in my head a secret. I go to my appointment and he gives me pills. Everyday I go to school and everyone makes fun of me. School has become my personal hell.
