“Candy Canes & Mistletoe”

I looked out the window as Kakashi set up the Christmas tree in the den. Snow cascaded down from the sky onto the empty streets of Konoha. My eyes take in the amazing scenery.

This is the first time it has snow in Konoha. I was really excited about it. I’ve never seen snow before. It looks so white and beautiful. I really want to go outside right now. If Kakashi-san will let me, that is.

I looked at Kakashi who smiled at me. “Ready to decorate.”

I nodded my head and stood up. Kakashi already put the lights on it. So all we have to do is out up the ornaments. I grab a box and start to hang them all over.

I never celebrated Christmas before. Kakashi was always out on mission during this time so I was usually alone. I’m glad he’s here though. That way we can celebrate together.

After all the ornaments were on the tree we put up candy canes. I grabbed a box of candy cones and put it on the tree. I took a candy cane and opened it. I put it in my mouth.

I always had a craving of candy canes. It’s delicious like ramen.

A light chuckle escaped Kakashi’s lips and I stared at him with an eyebrow raised.

“I knew you would take one” he smiled at me. I rolled my eyes and returned to decorating.

After finishing that Kakashi-san gave me the star that goes on top. I looked up at the tree. I know I can’t reach it. I looked at Kakashi would sigh and pick me up. I put the star on top and he let me down.

I looked up at the tree and how amazing it is. It’s really beautiful.

A knock on the door caught my attention and I raised a brow. Kakashi opened the door and there stood his team. A big smile was on Sakura and Naruto’s face. Sasuke was he usual self.

“Hey Kakashi-sensei!” Naruto greeted. They all walked in and Kakashi closed the door.

“Hey Kai!” Naruto and walked up to me. A present was in his hands.

“It’s for you. Merry Christmas!” My eyes widen slightly. I took the gift from him.

“…Thank you, Naruto-kun” I muttered quietly. I looked up at him and he smiled brightly. I looked away as I felt my cheek slightly heat up again.

‘Why does this happen?’

I put the gift by the tree. Sakura came up and also handed me a gift.

“For you” she said. I nodded and thanked her before putting it down by Naruto’s gift as well.

I looked at them. I knew Sasuke wasn’t giving me a gift. It was quiet obvious. I quietly bit into the candy cane that was in my mouth.

“Let’s go outside” Sakura suggested. I turn to look at Kakashi who only nodded in approval. He looked at me and smiled. I walked into my room and grabbed my scarf and gloves.

I also learned that I don’t get cold out there in the snow. My body heat is very warm so I don’t feel the cold at all.

I walked back out into the den and see them ready. Naruto smiled before grabbing my hand and dragging me out the door and outside.

“Naruto!” Sakura yelled. I looked back at her as they walked behind us.

Heading outside snow still cascaded down the sky still. Naruto released my arm and started playing around. My eyes looked around and notice how everything is covered in snow.

A hat was suddenly pulled over my head and I looked up at Kakashi.

“You forgot your hat” he said. I nodded and bend down to pick up the snow.

Everyone was scattered everywhere playing around. A few more of their friends started playing with us as well. I look over and notice Sasuke leaning against the tree by himself. I walked over there.

“Hello” he glanced at me before glancing away. I sat right next to him. He looked down at me.

“Why aren’t you with your friends?” I asked him. He scoffed.

“They’re not my friends” he stated. I looked at him.

“So, you’re lonely” he looked down at me but didn’t respond.

I looked away and played with the snow some more. This would really be helpful if I had a candy cane with me.

“Sasuke, do you have a candy cane?” I asked him.

“No.” he replied. I sigh and continued playing with the snow.

Kakashi-san went back in a long time ago. Night time fell and everyone went home. I stayed outside a little longer. I breathe out and watched as smoke came out. I opened another candy cane Kakashi had given me and put it in my mouth.

The night sky was nice out. The moon cascaded the snow, making it glistened beautifully.

‘It’s amazing.’

I sat by the tree when Sasuke was here. I wonder why he’s lonely though. I mean, Sakura’s always around him so I figured that she was his friend as well as Naruto, I see them compete all the time. I figure that was how their friendship is.

A crunch of snow snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked up to see if Kakashi was coming out, instead it was Sasuke.

“Sasuke-kun” I muttered. He looked at me. He offered a hand and I accepted it.

“I got you a gift” he muttered quietly. If I was mistaken I could see a small blush form on his face.

I nodded my head waited.  He pulled a leave wrapped in around a bow. I raised an eyebrow. He leaned in and places his lips to my cheek. I felt my cheeks heat up.

He pulled away with a small blush on his face. He pulled the candy cane from my mouth and places his lips to mine. My eyes widen in shock.

He pulled away and placed the candy back in my mouth.

“Merry Christmas.”
