"I'm sorry, but do I know you?" I asked.
The boy's eyes flickered from me to Aria, then to Will, and then back to me. I looked over at Aria and Will. Will had a look of pure confusion on his face while Aria's eyes were focused on me. I turned my gaze back to the boy.
"Morgana," she said, "This is my oldest son, Aiden." Aiden didn't say anything. As odd as it felt, Aiden seemed familiar to me and my curiosity started to grow.
"Do I know you?" I asked again, quieter this time. He nodded his head but the nod was so small that I was sure that I was the only one to have seen it.
Suddenly, Aiden lifted his head to look behind me at Aria. "Mother, may I speak with Morgana in the garden?"
Aria hesitated but then said, "I suppose you can if it's alright with Morgana."
Aiden looked back at me. "May I speak with you alone?" he asked.
I slowly nodded and I followed him back to the large vegetable garden. "What is this all about?" I asked once we had come to a stop. "How do you know me?"
"First of all, I'm assuming that Mother has talked with you before today?" I nodded. "Secondly, I assume that Will has dragged you into all of this because he thinks that you are somehow involved in our family?"
"Yes, he has, but what's all of that got to do with the fact that you seem to know who I am but I don't know you at all?" His eyes looked sad and it frustrated me that he somehow knew me but I didn't know him. "What does all of this have to with me?"
"It has everything to do with you, Morgana."
"How, though?"
"I . . . I don't know if you want to hear exactly how you're involved in this."
"I do want to know."
"Do you want the full and honest truth?"
I was starting to more frustrated. I just wanted him to tell me how I was involved with the Ravencrofts. "Of course I do."
His dark grey eyes stared into my own blue-grey ones for a moment then he said, "You're involved in all of this because you're my sister, Morgana." I must have had a look of complete unbelief on my face because he said, "I know that it sounds crazy but it's true. You have to believe me.
"Do I?"
"Please, Morgana, I'm asking you to believe me. I'm telling the truth." His voice was almost pleading.
"Why should I believe you?"
"Because I think that deep down in your heart, there is a part of you that believes me when I say that you're my sister." he said quietly.
"How are you so sure that I'm your sister?"
"If you want the truth, I'm honestly not sure. I know that you probably think I'm crazy but I swear that I'm not. I just have this feeling that you are a Ravencroft." His eyes seemed to search my face. "If you don't believe me, you could go ask Mother."
"Why should I ask Aria?"
"Because she'll tell you the same thing and you might believe her."
I was silent. On one hand, a part of me badly wanted to believe that Aiden was right. On the other hand, though, I didn't want to believe because that would mean that my whole life up until that moment had been a lie; it would mean that Mother and Father weren't really my parents.
"Aiden," I said quietly. "I want to believe you. I really do; but I-I don't know if I can. I've lived my whole life as a Craften and then suddenly, I meet Aria, Thomas, and Will and it feels as though my whole world is being flipped upside down. Then you come along and tell me that I'm your sister? What am I supposed to do? What do you want from me?" My voice had started to sound a bit pleading, but I didn't care at the moment. I wanted to know if Aiden was right or not.
