~* Nao's P.O.V *~
Hands full with multiple bags loaded with different assortments of colorful sweets, I practically dragged Old Man to the counter and looked around for some type of employee. Opting for being a kid and ringing the bell about a million times, I saw Old Man watching me with amusement and…fondness.
And I hated it.
Because, at the same time I loved it.
It irked the hell out of me, which resulted in me slamming on the bell harder, which resulted in a girl (who I think was asleep) rising from behind the counter. Immediately at my first glance at her, I decided that I’d like her because, well, she looked kick-ass!
Her hair was short and black, kinda like mine, with rainbow streaks in her bangs. Her outfit consisted of a rainbow belly top, black pants with a rainbow strip on the sides, and (you guessed it!) rainbow colored heels. I blinked at her as I slowly removed my hand from the now crushed, and sort of melted looking, silver bell.
She glanced at it, me, then set her withering gaze on Old Man who only sweatdropped in response.
“What are you doing here?” She sneered at him making a grin stretch over my lips. She’s rude to the Hokage of this place too! I knew I’d like her!
He smiled, slightly sheepish, before wrapping an arm around my shoulders and pulling me into his chest. I let out a small gasp as I almost dropped my candy and scowled at him when I hit his body.
“H-hey, Merlin! I was just bringing a new villager around and…er…she! decided to come here! What a surprise right??” He laughed awkwardly, similar to how he does around me as I pushed of his body and growled.
“Don’t use me as an excuse for your sorry ass. You could’ve easily led me the other way Old Man. And who the hell are you calling she?! I’m Nao! A guy! GUY!!”
Another sweatdrop formed on his head as he now turned to me, hands raised in a slight surrender motion and face still forced into a strained, closed-eye smile.
“Hai, hai Nao-kun. I understand, you’re a boy. Let’s not fight, alright? I still haven’t introduced you to Merlin yet!”
With sweat beading down his tan face, and a wary look sent to the bell I pretty much destroyed, he hurried over to this so-called Merlin’s side. I think he believed that she was a safer choice to stand next to rather than his chance with me.
Smart Old Man.
She scrunched up her face when he came near and stepped away.
“Ew, get away from me. I don’t want to catch your disease!” She sniffed.
Raising an eyebrow, I dared to ask what disease she was talking about. I was curious, I mean Old Man looks, old yes, but healthy old. I would’ve never thought that the ruler of the oh-so-amazing Konoha would be ill…
