Kait had found the location of the bridge between our world and hers and we set out as soon as she found it, deciding not to waste any time at all. Kait seemed to be exhausted after she had finished so she slept most of the ride.

"It takes a lot out of her," Raksha said, she was driving while I held Kait's head in my lap as she slept. "She's a powerful one, no one truly knows what she could do."

We drove for hours on end, occasionally stopping to get something for Kait and I to eat. Raksha never ate apparently, she didn't need it. Come to think of it, she never slept either. She was apparently some sort of celestial being, so she didn't need sustenance nor rest. I didn't complain, I ate her share. By the time we got where we were going, Kait was well rested. The car bounced along the dirt path until it finally came to a stop. Raksha told us we would have to walk from there.

We clambered out of the car and stretched. It felt good to be out of the car. We began our hike up into the hills. It was daytime now and the view wasn't half bad. Rivers flowing downstream and the sunlight brightened up the entire scenery. An earthy aroma was given off from the night dew on the grass. All in all, it was a lovely scene, despite the fact that two worlds were facing destruction.

After an hour hike, Kait pointed to a cave opening in the rocks.

"Where?" I asked. She pointed to the spot again, but I couldn't see it.

"Hmm, it makes sense." Raksha said, "It wouldn't be safe if the bridge to another world was in plain sight for anyone to see." She said. I shrugged, I suppose it did make sense. The cave was high, according to what they said, and there was no footing for us to climb.

"So how we gonna get up there?" I asked. Kait looked at Raksha, who nodded.

Raksha held on to my shirt collar and Kait wrapped her arms around Raksha's neck. A pair of beautiful wings with a light blue haze sprang from Raksha's back. The feathers shined so much I wondered if they were metal. How cool was that? She could fly. She got us up to the cave and dropped me to the floor before she landed with Kait. I groaned and got up, shooting her a look that said "fuck you too".

She smiled at me triumphantly and Kait laughed. The rift stood before us, the portal that would connect us to the closest point to the castle. It was almost over. We would get to the castle and, according to Kait, seal up the marble so no one could get to it but a member of the royal family.

We approached the portal and stepped through, exiting on the other end, in Kait's world. It was chaotic. Kaits world, what I imagined was actually very beautiful once, was ravaged by the ugly hands of war. War's sick brushes painted the surrounding landscape in shades of blood red and flames lapped at the bodies on the battlefield.

It was winter here apparently, snow and winds coming in hard. I was not dressed for this weather and I immediately began to tremble. Kait looked at me and handed me a coat. Not only was she a powerful, beautiful, bad ass, royal family member but this girl could conjure clothes as well. I think I'm gonna marry this one.

We began our walk towards the castle looming in the distance, it would be over soon.
