Dad scratched the back of his head as he grabbed Nekoda's phone and put it close to his face, "yo Gracia, remember me?".

"Who the fuck are you and how do you know my name?" The dragon queen asked.

Dad sighed, "battle of the bands, twenty-sixteen".

"No shit, which band was yours?!" She asked excitedly.

"The Tricksters, you beat us by a landslide, remember?!" Dad laughed.

"No way, who am I speaking to right now?!" She asked excitedly.

'What the shit is going on?!' I thought to myself. Our dad knows the fucking queen from a land of dragons who also happens to be a famous musician. I knew my dad was cool, but not that cool.

He chuckled nervously, "you remember a death threat when you first came into town?". There was a pause after that.

'His first impression with her was a death threat...?'. Okay, now my dad is twice as psychotic.

"Oh, I remember now!" The woman spoke. "Grim, right?!".

Dad smirked, "yeah, anyway, we need to get over there quick".

"What's the trouble?" She asked.

"Uh, it's a long story, much better told in person, cuz we don't want any unwanted people listening in" dad said.

Nekoda's mom sighed, "alright, I'll send a convoy to come get you, and this better be a life or death situation".

"Don't worry, it is" Nekoda said into the microphone.

Her mom sighed, "oh fuckin joy". I bit back laughter after she said that.

"See you soon, and also, you think we could ever do a song or something?" Dad asked.

The queen laughed, "good joke, I've heard you sing". Dad slumped and hung up the phone, handing it back to Nekoda.

I looked at Akame, "so you're a kitsune".

She nodded, "mhm".

I looked at her and Haru, "cat and dog dating?". I shook my head, "that is so unnatural".

"I'm a fox, not a cat" she hissed.

"Sorry, didn't mean to offend" I said, raising my hands. Everything went quiet again.

Niko looked around, "are we honestly just gonna forget that dragon princess here legitimately said she's hopefully a love interest for your brother?".

Nekoda scowled, "I was nervous and intimidated, so I didn't know what to say!". There was another slight pause.

I looked over to where my dad was standing to see he wasn't there anymore, "wait, where the fuck did he go?".

Malik shrugged, "left, but I don't know where he was going".

Niko yawned, "he went upstairs, so I'm assuming he had to piss or something".

Nekoda sniffed loudly, "aw come the fuck on!". We all have her questioning looks. She pulled out her sword, "I knew there was more than one vamp nest...".

I looked at her, "you couldn't find the rest?!".

She looked at me, "not above sea level!".
