"Kay Cam I'm leaving." I yelled pulling my jacket on. Suddenly in trotted jaxx, who was followed by cam rubbing his eyes. I bent down and wrapped my arms around jaxx as he licked my face. "Be a good boy today okay?" I said in between his puppy kisses. "Hey none for me?" Cam asked. "Oh right. " I teased and stood up. I ruffled his hair and said the same thing to him as I did jaxx. "Be a good boy today okay?" "Stawp babe I just want a kiss. " he begged. "Okay fine. " I brushed the mop that was his hair out of his face and kissed him. His hand slowly trailed from waist to my bum. "Babe. " "what? I gotta give ya somethin to think about all day at work. " he winked. "You're cute...well I gotta go boys see you later. " I said blowing them both a kiss and heading to my car.
The second I hopped in the car my phone went off with a text from Cameron.
Jaxx wanted me to text you and say he misses you already.
Just jaxx?
Okay me too.
You guys are too cute. I love you.
I love you too.
It had been a long time since Cameron and Jaxx were home alone together. It usually is both of us have work and meetings and only come home to see him during lunch and at night. I was glad cam had a day off to spend with jaxx, I could tell he missed his best friend. He absolutely adores that dog, it's the sweetest thing in the world.

"So let's go with a natural look today? Maybe some bronzing and highlight?" I asked my first client Kendall.
Even though I was a pro on dancing with the stars, I did makeup on the side because it's something I've always loved. It didn't take long for my clientele to build up and I've been working with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood from Kendall Jenner to Beyoncé. They all actually are such humble people, you never really know someone until you spend one to three hours with them doing their makeup.
"So how are things going with your new place?" Kendall asked, as I applied her foundation. "Oh my gosh, it's amazing! Cam kinda let me take over the interior design and I'm having so much fun. We are a lot closer since the Hawaii trip and now being together. " I replied. "Aw good I'm so glad, girl you need to throw a party so we can see it!" She suggested. We then went into party ideas and who to invite. We could have talked for hours but I had to run to my next client, Angelina. Kendall and I said our goodbyes and I sprayed one last bit of setting spray before I left. Her tip today was Kylie's new eyeshadow, among the other lip kits she had suck into my purse.
"Dahling!" Angelina exclaimed as I embraced her. "Angelina! How are you?" I asked pulling my makeup bag out. "Oh Hun I have been so busy with all these award shows coming up, thank you for coming so last minute. " she acknowledged. "Oh anything for my favorite Jolie-Pitt!" I added. "Hey!" Brad exclaimed at the door frame. "Hey you could be my favorite if you let me do your makeup!" I teased.
I had just applied the finishing touches to Angelina's contour and set everything again with setting spray when I got a call from Cameron. "I'm so sorry I gotta take this. " I apologized and answered the phone. Cameron never calls when I'm at work so I knew this was an emergency.
"Hello?" I answered. I could hear sniffles and Cameron answered, "maddi, um *sniff* I was taking jaxx on a walk and he um got out of his leash and he-" Cameron stammered before bursting into tears. I felt my heart sink to my stomach. The tears began to well up in my eyes. "Cameron baby it's okay listen where are you now?" I asked. "I'm I-in my car I'm gonna take jaxx to the vet. " he explained. "Okay I'm coming right now I'll be there as soon as I can okay? It's gonna be okay Cameron I'll be right there. " I reassured and hung up the phone. "I am so sorry Ange I have to go, jaxx got hit by a car so I have to meet Cameron at the vet. Let today be on me okay?" I began as I packed up all my makeup. "Oh my honey I'm so sorry. And never, I'm paying you but you get going and I'll send it to you. " she began as I grabbed my stuff, gave her a quick hug, and rushed out the door.
I started the car and sped off to the hospital. I was so worried about not only jaxx but Cameron. He raised that dog and he would be heartbroken if jaxx didn't make it. *bzzz bzzz* I grabbed my phone out of my purse and looked at the text.
I'm so scared of losing him.
Reading Cameron's text broke my heart, I burst into tears and pressed the call button.
"Cameron, I'm almost *sniff* there okay?" "Are you crying?" He asked. I wiped the tears from my eyes and answered, "yea, I just am so worried. I don't want to lose jaxx and I'm so worried about you. " his only reply was sniffles. I stayed on the phone with him until I was in the vets office. I walked in and saw him sitting in a corner with his head buried in his hands. "Cam?" I whispered. He looked up at me with bloodshot eyes and stood up as I pulled him into my arms. He cried harder than I've every seen him cry before. "I-I just can't Madison. I can't lose him. " he sobbed. I ran my hands through his hair. "I know Cameron, he's going to be okay. Trust me honey it's going to be okay. " I assured him. He rose his head from me shoulder and looked at me,"And what if he's not?" I lifted my hand up to wipe the tears from his eyes. It broke my heart to see him like this. "Then we I'll get through it baby. It will be hard but I will never leave your side." I comforted. "I love you so much. " he uttered and pulled me into his arms. "I love you too baby, I love you too. "
We sat in the waiting room for three hours until a vet's assistant came out. We were the only ones left in the waiting room, we only hoped for good news. "Mr. Dallas?" She summoned. He looked at me and stood up. "Wait cam. " I grabbed his arm. He turned around and looked back at me, I then cupped his face in my hands and placed my lips on his. "Thank you. " he whispered and made his way over to the nurse. "Now he just went through surgery, the procedure was successful. He is just sleeping now but you can go see him. " she announced. I could see how happy Cameron was even though I just saw his back. "But I must warn you to stay calm and quiet any sudden noises or big things could send him into a permanent coma. " she asserted. "Wait jaxx is in a coma?" Cameron shouted. "A medically induced one. Almost every animal has woken up fine. " she assured him. I could see cam tense up and I rose from my chair and walked over to him. I ran my hands up his back and hugged him from behind. "He's gonna be okay Cameron, he needs to hear your voice. It's alright okay?" I whispered. "O-Kay. " he stuttered hesitantly. "Can she come with me?" "No unfortunately not, unless she wants to stand outside the door. " the nurse offered. Cameron turned around taking my hands in his. "Will you please?" He begged. "Cameron, of course I will. " i agreed, and we followed the nurse to jaxx's room.
I watched the tears roll down cam's cheeks as we approached the room. "It's okay." I whispered and rubbed Cameron's arm to soothe him. "Now just put this on and you will be fine to go in. " the nurse explained handing Cameron a face mask. He took it from her and put it on. "Tell him how much you love him okay? And that we need him?" I asked and kissed Cameron's shoulder. He nodded with tears in his eyes and opened the door.
I watched as Cameron pulled up a chair next to the gurney where jaxx lay, and take his little paw in his hand.
"Hey buddy, how are you doing?" Cameron began petting his thick coat of fur. "I am so sorry jaxx, I should have tightened your leash. I love you so much and I really need you to wake up. I raised you from when you were just a little puppy, we were supposed to get old together remember?" He continued. This was the sweetest thing I had ever heard and it made me burst into tears. "I-I just really need you to wake up j-jaxx. Maddi and I really love you and won't know what to do without you. You are my best friend, please jaxx?" He begged before bursting into tears and laying his head on jaxx's tummy. I covered my mouth with my hand to lessen the noise of my sobs as I watched Cameron lay there next to jaxx. It felt like time had stopped as they both lay there silent not moving, except for the occasional movement of cam's back as he inhaled and exhaled.
The tears began to roll as I came to realize jaxx wasn't going to wake up. Until suddenly his paw began to twitch. Cameron must have noticed too, because his head popped up. Suddenly jaxx opened his eyes and began licking Cameron's face. I burst through the door and pulled them both into a hug. "He's okay!" Cameron yelled. I couldn't help but smile and let now happy tears flow down my cheeks. We sat there the two happiest people in the world with jaxx licking our faces, he was alive and okay. And that was all we could have asked for.
