Author's note: this is from Cameron's point of view...thought I would switch it up a bit :)

Madison...Madison...I whispered her name into the darkness, bringing my hand to my lips feeling what her name felt like coming from them.  The lips I wished could meet hers.

Madison Reynolds had been my best friend since the beginning of high school. I met her the first day of Frehsman year...now the last month before graduation I still wonder why...why I never told her how I felt. Why I let her go through all those shitty relationships. Why I went through all those shitty relationships...only to realize she was the only one I wanted.

*brrrrrrring brrrrrrrringg*

My phone rang from across the room, I leapt towards it hoping it was her. "Hey Mads. " I answered cooly. "Cameron...can you...I...please...you.." she cried. "Madison, honey take a deep breath. " I whispered. I waited until I heard her exhale on the other side of the line. "Tell me what a wrong." I tried to remain calm for her sake even though my stomach flipped at hearing her so hysterical. "Its Calvin. " was all she managed to get out. Calvin was her latest boyfriend, whom I was not fond of. Not only because I was in love with her but because he cheated on her but she kept taking him back. Despite my advice on leaving him. I waited a minute more for her to compose herself and elaborate more on what happened. "I broke it off, I couldn't do it anymore. " she whimpered. "Ill be over there in five. " I spoke calmly. "No Cameron its 3 in the morning, I'm sorry I just didn't know who else to call I just needed to hear your voice and know I was going to be okay." she objected.

Despite her efforts to get me to stay, I was already in the car on my way to her house. I snuck in through the basement door to her bedroom. I walk in to see her cuddled up, mascara tears cascading down her hollow cheeks. "Cameron, I told you..." she whispered but I cut her off wrapping my arms around her and pulling her into my chest. We stayed like that, a good thirty minutes. Finally she pulled away and looked back up at me, her bloodshot eyes broke my heart. I raised my hand to her cheek and wiped away her tears. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to-" I cut her off once more with my finger to her lips. "Madison I love you, not just as my best friend. I am in love with you...I have been since the moment I saw you and I know this is the worst timing but I want you to know that. I will drop everything for you, like I have tonight. I will risk everything for you because that's how much I care about you. I'm never letting any guy hurt you again. " I assured her. She opened her mouth as if to say something but was rendered speechless, I cupped her face in my hands caressing the soft skin on her cheeks and pulled her face close to mine. "I love you too Cameron." she whispered and smiled before I pulled her in and placed my lips on hers.

I pulled the covers back and laid down beside her, wrapping my arms around her as she drifted off to sleep. I was never going to let anyone else hurt her, I vowed to love her and protect her until my last breath. .
