My brothers best friend

Slamming the door behind me, I exhaled and ran my hands through my hair. I trudged into the kitchen and threw my bag down. Today had definitely not been my day, all I needed was to grab something to eat and not be talked to. As I browsed the fridge I heard footsteps on our hard floor. Assuming it was my brother I continued looking for something to eat. I decided on, although not the healthiest choice...cookie dough ice cream. "Rough day huh?" An unrecognizable voice spoke. I looked up to see Daxton's best friend, Cameron. "Ugh yeah, things just didn't go as planned for me. Just kinda need to take a minute." I vented. "Well ice cream is a great start." he suggested, adding a wink. "I agree." I smiled and began scooping ice cream into the bowl. Cameron sat and talked to me as I did until suddenly Daxton ran into the kitchen. "Cameron what are you doing talking to my little sister?" He spat. Cameron threw his arms up in defense. "Hey I just saw cookie dough ice cream, I was intrigued.  "Alright well enough of that, let's go play some video games aight?" He suggested. "Enjoy that ice cream." Cameron smiled at me before heading down to the game room.

I gathered my things, cookie dough included and made my way down to my room. In less than 30 seconds, I was in bed with Gossip Girl on and cookie dough in my hand. Perfect way to end a bad day. It was hard to focus on my show, when the boys were screaming and shouting during their games. I decided to change into pajamas and get into bed.

About a hour had passed and the video games were now inaudible...I assumed the boys went to bed. I closed my eyes and began to drift off.

"Madison?" a voice whispered. My head popped off the pillow to see Cameron's shadow. "Cam what are you doing in here?" I asked. "Shh Mads, I just came to check on you. " He replied, coming closer. I sat up and pulled the sheets up to my chest. "May I sit?" he asked politely, gesturing to the end of my bed. I nodded and felt the bed beside my feet sink in as he sat beside me. "Madison, I was worried about you after we left you. What happened?" he questioned looking at me. I took a deep breath...and out came the events of the day. The break up, Drama, everything. Some how I just felt safe telling him.

I looked back up as he ran his hands through his hair. "I, I'm so sorry." He began. "Do you need anything? Can I help you?" I couldn't take it anymore, the tears I had held in began rushing out. No one had ever come and checked in on me or made sure I was okay. It meant so much Cameron came and checked on me. "Hey, hey. Shh...its okay." Cameron slowly scooted closer and put his hand on me cheek. He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and wiped my tears. He leaned in closer and whispered. "I'm here, you're okay." He put both hands on either side of my face and kissed me. His lips slowly moved from mine down to my neck and all along my collar bone. We made out for a bit until I pulled my covers up and he crawled in next to me. Cam wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close as I fell asleep in his arms.
