Everything sounds ridiculous. "How do you even know that their intentions are to destroy all of mankind?" I push.
Reyna senses my disbelief. "I can still feel my life force. They stole it from me," she admits.
"Just because they stole your life force doesn't prove anything. How can you be so sure they plan on destroying the world?" I ask. I can see the fear and worry in her eyes. She is scared of what she knows and she is desperate for me to do something about it.
"I saw it," she desperately says.
"Saw what?"
Reyna stands still beside the large, thick tree. Her presence is becoming darker; slowly blending in with the darkness that surrounds her. I couldn't tell whether she is fading away or this darkness is saying what her eyes are saying: Please believe me.
"I saw what happens to the world in only a few months. It's terrifying – death everywhere, fear everywhere and life nowhere," she explains.
I shake my head. I can't believe her. But she genuinely looks terrified and I feel cruel for not believing her. But how could I believe her? She is claiming an apocalypse is approaching. How does she expect me to believe that? Just because I learnt about ghosts and the Night Watchers doesn't make me open to believe anything.
"Don't you see? All ghosts are running away because they know it is coming. We are all scared and so should all the living," she almost cries.
"Why? If what you say is true, then it wouldn't harm ghosts," I point out.
"You may believe we have nothing to lose because we are dead, but it does affect us all. If they succeed, it'll affect the living and the dead. The two worlds we share would be vanished into a world that you can never imagine."
She takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. "I know you don't believe me. But you need to understand that ghost visions are always become true. We have the ability to see what will happen with things that will affect us."
"If it will come true, then what's the point of telling me?" I ask.
"Because all visions can change, if we make the right moves," she says.
"And you saw that your life force is linked with this vision?" I ask.
"I saw it myself. My life force is one of the ingredients to something that would only lead to destruction of the world."
"You might be wrong."
"Senera, I have also seen what it would do to the world. Chaos and death, everywhere."
"You said you can show the Whisperer. Then show me what you saw." Saying those words, I could already feel my heart starting to race.
There is a pause. I watch Reyna as she stares directly at me. Suddenly, a large white flash of light blinds me. My hands, out of instinct, presses against my eyes to ease the pain. The burning sensation was not on my retina, rather it was everything else. I feel as though I've been pushed at such a speed I feel instantly nauseous. My stomach churning at the sudden dizziness.
Slowly, the light disappears and I couldn't see anything. The cold wind is immediately replaced with a wave of heat. I could smell burnt wood and something else burning. I remove my hands and gradually open my eyes. The first thing that catches my attention is the large, orange and yellow flames. Every tree is on fire.
The buildings surrounding me, the roads, the grass remains untouched by the flames. I could recognise this place as Havenwood town square. I recognise the vintage shops, the bricked buildings and the smooth concrete. The buildings re damaged as though a boulder smashed against the side. There is no sign of life anywhere. Only darkness. I look at the sky but see a large black cloud of smoke, covering the sun. I suddenly see bright, blue lightening in the black cloud.
