The Wolf Trials (Sequel to The Wolf Runner)

Chapter 4

Minho's PoV
(Set before they find Stiles)

I wake up suddenly from a nightmare.

When I realise that it was just a dream I sigh in relief and sink back into the warm mattress.
Wait... how did I get on a mattress? I suddenly ask myself while sitting up. I look around the room and notice that I'm in a small room with light blue walls and a cream carpet. The bed had a small bedside table next to it and on the other side of the room was a wardrobe.

Slowly I get out of the bed and make my way towards the wardrobe. Hoping to find some new clothes.
Carefully, I open the doors of the wardrobe revealing nothing.
Sighing, I make my way towards the door.
When I step out of the room I make my way down the hall when suddenly I hear some shuffling in the room that I'm passing by.

Slowly I put my hand on the handle. About to creep up on what ever was on the other side of the door. But before I could open the door it suddenly swings open, causing me and the person on the other side of the door to cry out in surprise.

"Newt?" I suddenly ask while staring at the blond boy.

"You gave me a bloody heart attack!" Newt says while putting his hand dramatically over his heart.
I just role my eyes.
"Where are we?" He asks while coming out of the room and into the hall.

"Not sure, do you know where Thomas is?" I ask while me and Newt walk down the stairs into another smaller hall.

"No, your the first person I've seen," he replies, "we should probably go check out the kitchen to try and find food."
I nod and walk into the kitchen with Newt by my side.

After raiding the kitchen we come out empty handed.

"I think this place is empty," I say as me and Newt go into another room to look for stuff that might come in handy to us.

"Well done Sherlock," Newt says sarcastically while rolling his eyes.

I pretend to not hear and make my way towards the front door.
"We best go search somewhere else," I say while opening the door wide enough for us to fit through.

As soon as we get out side heat suddenly hits us while the light of the sun blinded us.
"Bloody hell," I hear a Newt curse under his breath, "that sun is bright."

Once our eyes manage to adjust to the light we make our way down the street, not really knowing where we are going.

Suddenly Newt stops me.
"Do you hear that?" He asks while I listen closely to what he's talking about. Suddenly I start to hear faint voices coming from round the corner.
I nod and signal to the direction of the voices, wanting to check them out.

Slowly we creep round the corner, the voices getting louder as we get closer.
As soon as we see the source of the voices I instantly recognise who they are.

"Tommy?" Newt shouts over, taking the words straight out of my mouth.
