The Wolf Trials (Sequel to The Wolf Runner)

Chapter 7

Stiles' PoV

"She's waking up!" I hear Minho exclaim while moving round to get a better view.
Slowly I watch as her hand comes up to her face to shield her eyes from the sun. As soon as she sees us she lets out a small scream and quickly crawls back and jumps up onto her feet.

"Who are you? Where am I?" She asks while holding her hands out in front of her to keep us back and slowly backing away.

"Geena, it's me, Scott," Scott started off by saying while slowly edging towards her, "don't you remember me?"

""I'm not sure, I feel like I know you from somewhere but I can't seem to remember anything!" She shouts at us while starting to panic.

"Hay it's okay," Newt says calmly while putting his hand carefully onto her shoulder. But as soon as his hand made contact with her shoulder she jerked away and stumbled even further away from us.

"Don't touch me!" She growled at us through gritted teeth. Suddenly her eyes flashed a bright yellow and fangs started to grow from her mouth. As soon as I know it instead of a girl standing in front of me there's a fox, it had dark Amber fur with small black paws, and white all up its stomach and neck. It's eyes were light purple, but had a strange hint of red.
I heard Minho and Newt take in a sharp breath.

"W...what the hell?" I hear Minho stutter while he just stands there next to Newt, both of their mouths hanging open.

When I look over to Scott I watch him as he slowly kneels down to the ground and looks straight into the foxes eyes.
His eyes have turned red and he looks like he's trying to speak to her through eye contact.
Slowly, after a few minutes of intense staring she slowly changes back into a human and stands up.

"I remember," she whispers, barely loud enough for us to hear, "I remember!" She suddenly shouts as she jumps up in the air and claps her hands like someone who had just passed their exams.
She soon turns her gaze to Scott and looks him in the eyes. "Thank you," she says while nodding her head in gratitude.

"It's fine, but we do need your help," he says while looking at me.

"We need your help to find our friends, we think that they might be somewhere around here," I say.

"I can help you but first we need to go somewhere," she says while turning around, ready to run.

"Where?" Newt asks while him and Minho walk up to where me and Scott are.

"My den," she says while turning round to smirk, then bolted away, not waiting for us to follow.
