The Wolf Trials (Sequel to The Wolf Runner)

Chapter 3

Stiles' PoV

When I wake up the last thing I remember is an explanation and me shouting for help. I look up at the sky dazed, my whole body numb. Where was I? Was I dead? Why couldn't I remember getting to where I was?
Suddenly I sit up slowly. Making sure not to make myself dizzy.
Looking around myself I suddenly notice Scott sitting down at a small fire he must have made.
When he caught me staring at him he instantly helps me up into a sitting position against a wall.

"What happened?" I ask, my voice croaky and hoarse.

"There was an explosion and I heard a shout so I went over to check it out and I found you," he replies while sitting next to me.

"Where are we?" he suddenly asks in a slightly fearful tone.

"I think we're in the trials," I reply in barley a whisper, getting to terms with what I had just said.
"We need to find the others!" I suddenly remember as I jump out of a sitting position.

"Emm, Stiles. I saw something before I found you..." Scott starts off but then goes silent. Sudden dread comes over me as I sit in front of him.

"What did you see?" I ask wearily.

"It was the whole pack... dead," he stutters out. My heart suddenly drops.
"You were there though as well and you're still alive! That means there could still be hope," he suddenly pipes up.

"Tommy?" I suddenly hear a familiar voice shout in disbelief.
I quickly look around behind me and see Newt and Minho running towards me and Scott.

As soon as Minho reaches me he playfully punches my arm and kneels down so he's level with me. "Thought we'd lost you when we couldn't find you."

I laugh under my breath and look up just as Newt kneels down next to us.

"Seen any of the others?" I ask as they shake there heads.

"You guys are the first people we've seen," Newt replies, his accent thicker than usual.

"We need to find the rest," Scott suddenly speaks up, drawing all attention towards him, "they could be in danger."

"Yeah, we should probably get moving," Newt agrees while stand up with Scott.

Me and Minho both stand up as well, eager to find our friends.
