Postcards

Heart beat pounding in my eardrums
Uncertainty drawing near
I want to ask for postcards
To rise my heart from here
Love swirling all around me
Bright colours becoming clear
I want to ask you for postcards
The sound swelling in my ear
Creeping down my back
Writing my hear on my sleeve
Ink drying on my skin
Following to path to well within
A ink black heart waits
There glitter red pen readied and near
I plunge that red pen deep
Deep into my skin
Striping it of the black that kept my feelings within
The barrier starts to break
My feelings do not thin
They only flood out stronger
Stronger from within
Where my once black heart lay
Now red and pink
That ink black as coal contrasts with my skin
I don't recognise it now
Who was I before
That caused all of this?
I remember feelings swirling
Colours blinding and bright
Then my sleeve was covered in ink
That contrasted with the snow
Ice rained on me
Leaving me cold
But now I am radiant
Warm in the summer glow
I am going to buy postcards
To send to you my love
I was once afraid of losing you
I will write about all the above.
