As soon as I jumped through the doorframe I was whirled away into darkness. I couldn't feel anything except Thea's hand in mine so I gripped it tightly. I've never been in the middle of a tornado but I assume that it's very similar to being in a portal. Wind whipped around me and threatened to tear Thea away from me. I assumed we were going to the same place but still didn't want to let go. My hair flew everywhere and I did my best to keep my screaming under control.

The wind stopped as suddenly as it had started. Unfortunately, I didn't slow down. I hurtled through the air and collided with something. Thea followed my lead by hurting into my stomach. I groaned and pushed Thea off me.

I was still incredibly disoriented from my trip through the portal thing (I still wasn't entirely sure what it was) so I rolled over onto my stomach and everything I could to keep myself from hurling. I heard Thea's voice but my ears were still ringing and I couldn't make out what she said. I felt someone grab my shoulder and turn me over, they brushed my hair out of my face and shook my violently.

"Oh god, please stop that I'm gonna hurl." I said and the shaking stopped. My ears stopped ringing and I finally opened my eyes. I recognized the fiery red hair immediately. "Lily. What's up? How's it going?" I said in a dazed confusion. Then I noticed the tears on her cheeks. "Why were you crying? is everything okay?" I asked. "I thought you were dead." She choked out. "Mady, we all thought you were dead. You disappeared off the goddamn map! What the hell happened?"

"I- I'm not sure. I got to the room of requirement, there was a door there was this... magical curtain?" I tried to provide an explanation."A magical curtain? Magical curtain? Are you fucking kidding me? I thought you were dead and the explanation you give me is 'a magic curtain'!" She half yelled. I smiled and sat up. "This isn't funny!" She said. "I thought you were dead. You're my best friend and I thought you were dead." Tears started rushing down her cheeks again. I hugged her tightly and tried to comfort her. "Don't worry Lily, I'm okay." I said. "Don't worry."

She still didn't stop hugging me until Alice pushed her off. "Really Mady? Out of everyone here you chose me to land on? I'm offended, you could've landed on Sirius, he would've enjoyed that." She joked. "Sorry Ali, the magic curtain chose you." I told her. "Congrats on not being dead." She said and grinned. "I really am enjoying it." I replied.

James pushed her out of the way and looked down at me with his lopsided grin. "Those four seconds when I thought you were dead were pretty sucky." He said and gave me a hand. I grabbed it and he pulled me up. "Thanks... I guess." I said. Remus and Peter both said pretty much the same thing except it was phrased a bit more delicately.

Sirius was sitting on the ground next to a nightstand and he looked like he was in shock. I walked across the room and sat next to him. "I'm okay Sirius." I said quietly and I grabbed his hand. He looked up at me and I thought he was going to pull me into a hug like everyone else but instead he stood up and pulled me up with him.

"Sirius I-" He cut me off by pulling me into a kiss. I was surprised at first but eventually I kissed him back. It was soft but firm and he held me like he wasn't going to let go. I loved it. When he finally pulled away he still held me close to him and whispered in my ear. "Please, never ever do that again."

"I won't." I said.

"Promise me." He whispered, still not letting go. "I promise Sirius." I said to him quietly. He finally let me go but I still held onto his hand. I blushed when I realized that everyone was watching. Alice flashed me a very unsubtle thumbs up and my blush deepened. Lily raised her eyebrows at me and I averted my gaze. I saw James grinning at Sirius and Thea mostly looked incredibly confused.

"Um." She raised her hand. "Can I go downstairs now?" She asked. Alice walked over and put a hand on her shoulder. "Course sweetie, I think I'm gonna join you." She said, and they walked out the door together.
