"Okay, find your pairs." Ms. Delilah smiled as she leaned on her desk. I turned around to find someone who still hasn't been paired when a redhead sat beside me, her green eyes brimming with joy. They sparkled like gems when the sun hit them.

"Hi." She chirped. Her voice sweet and soft, it was almost heavenly. And she's hot too. A girl behind her groaned and stomped her way to another student.

"Hi." I said, smiling as wide as I can and I wasn't even forcing it. Her vibe was affecting me. I looked around and caught some people glaring at us. Wow, they're quite open with what they feel here now, don't they? I thought as I turned my attention back to the girl.

"I'm Heath Cahill." I said, still smiling as I lifted my hand to shake. She stared at it, then smirked, cocking a brow. She grabbed my arm and I waited for her to shake it but she pulled me towards her and hugged me. Tightly. I patted her back awkwardly as we both leaned away. The side of my mouth twitched as I feel my heart race.

"I'm Evelyn Kellis. And that's just how I greet people I like." She winked at me and I swore I felt my cheeks warm up.

"The person next to you will be your lab partner until the grading ends. Now pleas open the activity sheets and answer it together." Ms. Delilah said as she started walking around the classroom, checking our papers. They were just post-tests about a few lessons we had in science last year. And thankfully, Evelyn remembered those lessons since I forgot all of them.

The next subject was mathematics and Evelyn decided to seat next to me. And I'm not lying if I said she was way too close. Our elbows and knees bumped sometimes and she didn't even care. I was the only one who was aware of it.

Recess finally came and Evelyn told me to go with her and her friends. And I obliged happily. This might finally be the beginning of the end of my ongoing single life.

"Hey, Heath." I heard someone call out, making me turn and find Ethan just a feet behind me. I reflexively leaned back as I stepped away from him.

"Hey, Ethan." I smiled awkwardly. "I should go." I said, not even looking in his eyes as I remembered how rude I was to him earlier. I left his sight and finally found Evelyn.

"Ethan, huh?" Evelyn smirked as she cocked her brow at me with her arms folded. I just rolled my eyes and gently led her to the cafeteria. "Where are we going?" She suddenly asks, her voice sounded like she was about to laugh.

"To the cafeteria?" I said, baffled if I was even guiding us to the cafeteria. She sighed as her shoulders slumped.

"C'mon." She pats my back and started turning us to the other way. "The cafeteria's this way."

We reached the cafeteria and started getting our food. She said her friends might have already taken there's anyway. And when we arrived at a table and sat there, her friends did already have food.

"Hey, guys this is Heath, Heath, my friends." Evelyn simply introduced as she sipped in her juice box.

"Hello Heath. I'm Victoria. This is my boyfriend, Mark, and that's Chris." I smiled at the pale girl. A simple, red headband held her straight, black hair from her face.

I turned to the other guy whose dark hair styled to impress. I smiled at Chris then finally turned to the boy who still had his head down. Mark. He probably noticed I was staring at him when he finally looked up from his brown curly hair, his translucent blue eyes staring into mine.

"You're beautiful." I gasped and my eyes widened when I realized what I just said. He just smiled at me and continued to eat as I looked to see the reaction of my friends. Victoria was smiling proudly and Chris did so too. Except for Evelyn.
