Harry POV

All the Gryffindors clap politely clap as Percy is sorted into our house.

A small part of me hoped he would get  a house other than Gryffindor.  That part immediately felt a pang of guilt.

It just felt like I was expected to watch over him, and teach him everything he needed to know.  It might sound selfish, but I just wanted a normal year at Hogwarts.   But id Dumbledore's announcement was as important as he said...

"Well, I would like to welcome all of our wonderful new students!  I hope you have a wonderful year here at Hogwarts!" Professor Dumbledore says.  All of the students clap politely.  "This year, Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event... The Quad-wizard tournament! (A/N yes, I am aware it is called the triwizard tournament.  I also know that the quad wizard tournament is the lamest name in the world, but I have to do it this way for the sake of the plot.  Ok? Cool :D ) "For those of you who don't know, the quad-wizard tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contests.  From two out of the three schools, a student is selected to compete.  However, the school hosting the event selects two." Murmurs of excitement arise from the crowd.  "And let me be clear, if chosen, you stand alone.  And trust me when I say, these contests are not for the fainthearted.  But more of that later.  And know, please join me welcoming, The lovely ladies of Beauxbatons academy of magic, and their Headmistress, Madam Maxine!"

Right as the words leave his mouth, the doors swing open and a group of teenage girls elegantly walk into the great hall.  They are all dressed in pale blue dresses, and hats.  As they skip down the isle with their heads held high, they release butterflies from the palms of their hands.

I can't help but wanting to go up and hug one of them.  Ron has the same expression on his face as I do, as do most of the other boys, and a few girls.  Hermione however looks unimpressed.

Behind the group, there's an unusually tall woman.  I'm assuming she's the headmistress.

They eventually step up to the front of the room, and all line up.  In the middle, there's a blond haired girl.  She's holding hands with a younger girl.  I can't help but notice the similarities between the two of them.   They're probably related.

All of them give a curtsy, then walk to an empty table at the right side of the room.

"And now our friends from the north, please greet our proud sons of Durmstang, and their headmaster, Igor Karkaroff!" Dumbledore announces, sounding sort of like a TV show host.

The doors burst open, and a group of teenage boys march in.  Most are holding wooden staffs.  The students pound their staffs against the ground in a rhythmic pattern, creating sparks.  They also switch the wood from hand to hand, and twirl them in one hand.   Trailing behind the whole group, is the headmaster and..

"It's him!" Ron whispers to me.  "It's Viktor Krum!" Halfway down the great hall, they all begin to sprint.  Some are doing back flips, and other fancy moves.  Well, except from Krum and Karkaroff who are still walking stiffly.  They finally arrive at the front of the room, and the guy in the middle blows a serpent made of fire from his wand, that soon sprouts into a bird.  Karkaroff and Dumbledore hug, and then Durmstrang goes to join Beauxbatons at their table.

"I would like to welcome all of our guests to Hogwarts." Dumbledore says.  "Now I have some more information on the tournament." Everybody immediately silences.  The headmaster pulls out his wand, and points at a pyramid sort of thing.  The levels lift down, and reveal a huge goblet, filled with blue flames.  "This is the goblet of fire." Professor Dumbledore explains.  "Anyone who wishes to enter the tournament will write their name on a small slip of paper, and throw it into the flames."
