Draco POV
I scan my surroundings, checking for my opponent. My head snaps to the side as I hear the rustling of leaves. I cautiously walk towards the noise, sword in arm. But when I reach the scene, there isn't anyone there. I silently swear, and turn again only to see him.
He smirks, and swings his leaf-shaped blade. It meets with mine, and we battle. We're a blur of gold and bronze. Beads of sweat roll down my forehead as I slash and dodge. My weapon shoots across the floor, and I'm immediately thrown to the floor, the tip of his sword against my throat.
Percy smiles, and offers me a hand. I graciously accept it, and he pulls me up. I plop down on the bench, as far as possible from Granger. She raises an eyebrow, and goes back to studying. A few seconds later, Percy sits down next to me.
"Good job Draco!" He congratulates, and hands me a water bottle. I gulp it down gratefully.
"Thanks." I reply, letting the pride be heard in my voice.
"I think that's the first time I've heard you say thanks, Draco." Hermione comments, her eyes not leaving the parchment. I'm about to retort, but Percy sends me a warning look.
"Anyway, Hermione." He asks nervously, fiddling with the drawstrings of his hoodie. Granger lifts her head.
"Yes?"
"Well, I had a dream back at the burrow-The night of the world cup. Do you know anything about a pale noseless guy?" She doesn't reply right away, but her eyes lock with mine. We both know who he's talking about.
"Yes." She says slowly. "His name is...." Hermione looks around nervously. "Voldemort. He's evil. Killed hundreds of wizards. He's also the one who... you know... killed Harry's parents." She shifts uncomfortably. "What did he say in the dream?"
"He said he knew me. I had no clue who he was though." Percy turns to me as if sensing my discomfort. I pale. I've been trying to avoid this conversation with Percy for a while now. I heard something from my father a while ago... rumors that I'd rather not speak of. "Do you know anything about this Draco?" I take a deep breath, gathering courage.
"Well... I heard a thing or two from my father." I say, then see Percy's weirded-out look. "Not Ares. Lucius, I mean." I correct, he waves his hand in a 'go on' gesture. "Well... I didn't hear much but there was something about Luck, and Krono... Not sure. My 'dad' doesn't trust me enough to tell me anything like this." Percy puts a hand on the bench to steady himself, and one on his head. He's visibly shaking, and closes his eyes.
"Percy?" Hermione asks, in a slightly panicked tone. "Percy?!" I just stare wide eyed at the veteran demigod, who is now sweating. He stands up, and starts pacing back and forth.
"No...not again." He mumbles. He takes out his pen, and begins to nervously twirl it between his fingers. "I can't... I-I said I was done..." Me and Hermione stand up simultaneously. I nod at her, and she gets the message. Just this once. We walk over to Percy, and I put a hand on his shoulder. He throws it off, his eyes tinted slightly red. I gasp. I had never seen Percy like this. So... angry.
"Percy? What's wrong?" I ask worriedly, advancing towards him. But five paces in, I'm thrown back by a strong jet of wind, and hit the wall. My head snaps against the brick, and I feel a trickle of blood run down my face. I groan in pain as I slump against the wall. Hermione rushes towards me.
She crouches down to my level.
"Are you ok?" I nod weakly. My head is throbbing, and there's blood leaking out of several lacerations on my body. But other than that, I'm doing flat out AMAZING. Granger cries out as she's also thrown aside by the sudden appearance of a huge wave of water. She emerges from it, soaked a few seconds later. But not before I see Percy walking towards me, a miniature hurricane swirling around him. Shards of ice, lightning crackling, and wind all compacted into the room of requirement. All caused by a certain son of Poseidon.
