An (Un)Suspected Visitor -5-

Gosh...I really hadn't grasped how much I rely on writing to calm me down until a couple days ago. Yeah, I'm pretty weird. What can I say? Some of us have our quirks.

This is mostly a "filler" (a nice way of saying that it's pretty much pointless) chapter. A LONG filler chapter...but its a chapter nonetheless ;D

Waking up in a hotel room in France and not knowing exactly how I got there is pretty much how all of my stays here begin. Mostly, I would be too tired to fully awaken once the plane lands and I just find my way to my room and crash. I'm guessing that's what happened last night though I can't be sure.

Sitting up on the amazing bed, I looked around and appreciated how well designed the bedroom was. The walls were a soft creme color and the hardwood flooring was a deep dark color that I definitely loved. On the floor-to-ceiling window covering the entire wall on my left, curtains of a light beige color stopped the sun from blinding my eyes. I guess I got lucky and woke up in the morning.

Standing up, I was glad to see that I was still wearing the last outfit I can remember putting on. It's comforting to know that nobody changed me without my permission. I walked to the curtained window and drew the curtains open letting the sunshine stream in. I gasped at the view in front of me and couldn't be any more contented with the way my morning was beginning. As I let my eyes drink in the amazing bustle of the city, I realized the truth behind the saying that every good thing must come to an end. At a moment where I would appreciate complete silence, my phone began ringing.

Completely annoyed that such a perfect beginning to a new day had to be ruined, I walked to where my bag seemed to have been carelessly dropped on a comfy armchair. I rummaged through the contents of my purse and grabbed my phone when I finally found it.

Just by the ringtone, I already knew it was my father--or whoever my father had passed the phone of to once told to give me a call.

"Hello?" I said into the receiver.

"Ms. Kayla?"

"Yes, it's me."

"You are to accompany your father to a board meeting in two hours. Please be ready along with Mr. Michaels in an hour's time. A car will be waiting for both of you down at the lobby. Your father will most likely leave before both of you and will just meet you in the conference room. Please do not be late."

"You got it."

"Good."

With that, we both hung up. Another boring meeting, another waste of a good couple hours in an amazing city. Oh joy.

"JACE!!!" I screamed out while I made my way out of the bedroom I found myself in.

Wow. The whole suite had that coffee theme throughout it. Gosh, I loved it.

"What?!" he yelled back sounding a little annoyed. I snickered when I realized that it was only five am after glancing at a clock in the kitchen area and that I may be waking him up.

As I walked to where it sounded he was currently sleeping in, I added a little spring in my step. Maybe if I look hyper, it'll annoy him more.

"WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! My father wants us ready in an hour and you have to come to a board meeting with me. It feels nice to know that another person who shouldn't be there has to suffer the hell that is a long, boring board meeting," I explained as I pushed his slightly opened door open even wider.
