Kabuto

A few days after the boys had left for their mission, they had finally returned. Kakashi had exhausted himself through overusing the rasengan and so was resting in the hospital, but they were all safe, including Gaara from what I had heard. Yuki was worried for her papa but was spending the day with Naruto and Sakura so I decided to use the time to go and see Kakashi myself. Waving goodbye to Naruto, Sakura and Yuki, I headed off through town towards the hospital. People waved as I passed and I listened to the busy stalls selling their goods. The place didn't change at all in the years I'd lived here. Arriving at the hospital, I entered inside and saw Tsunade just leaving with a few others. They smiled at me as I walked past, heading straight to Kakashi's room. Peeking through the window in the door, I saw that he was still awake and gazing outside. Smiling, I opened the door, stepped in and closed the door behind me causing him to meet my gaze.
"Hey, thought I'd visit." I grinned, coming to take a seat on the chair by his bed. Intertwining my hand with his I brought it up and pressed a kiss against his hand. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine, just need to rest a bit." He shrugged with a nonchalant look on his face. Sighing, I flicked his forehead causing him to rub at the spot I'd flicked.
"Stop acting so casual, if it was only rest you needed then you'd be home." I frowned, crossing my arms over my chest. His lips curved up underneath his mask in amusement causing me to raise an eyebrow and narrow my eyes. "You have no idea how worried I was when I heard that you were in hospital." I sighed with a frown. Patting the space next to him, he gestured for me to join him. Climbing onto the hospital bed, I laid under the cover with him while making sure to be mindful of his body and any injuries he had. Resting my head on his chest, I pressed a gentle kiss against it while listening to his heartbeat.
"I know, but I'm fine, ok?" He sighed, pressing a kiss against the top of my head.
"Just don't make me worry again....." I pouted, snuggling into his chest and wrapping an arm around his waist while he ran a hand through my hair. Feeling at ease and relaxed with hearing his heartbeat beneath my ear, my eyes began to fall closed until I was fast asleep.

By the time I woke up it was in the afternoon and with a glance upwards, I saw that Kakashi had also fallen asleep. Smiling softly, I carefully maneuvered myself out of his hold and off of the bed. Kissing his forehead, I turned and left the room quietly so as not to disturb him. He needed his rest after all. Exiting the room, I left the hospital and decided to head down to the lake for a little while. Setting myself down on a bench I let the cool breeze wash over me and gazed up at the blue sky. The place where Kushina and Minato were watching over us with Obito, Rin and my parents. My thoughts then turned to Sasuke. What was he doing at this moment and why the hell did he let himself start craving power? I knew that he was after revenge on Itachi but something about Itachi killing his clan didn't add up. I had already realised that he must have been given orders to do so for the village and therefore Itachi sacrificed a lot when he slaughtered his own clan, leaving only his brother as a survivor. They had always had a strong bond between them so it didn't surprise me that if he was to leave anyone alive, it would be his little brother. It saddened me however that he was forced to do such a thing and that nobody would tell Sasuke the truth. If I knew the facts then I could, but without the facts or proof, what could I do? The only thing I could do in my position was to watch over him, raise him and guide him. Unfortunately he made things difficult for me, but like Naruto and Sakura, I wasn't giving up.

My thoughts were interrupted when I felt a hand go over my mouth and something sharp on my neck. Pulling out a kunai, I held it up and came face to face with somebody I did not wish to ever see. Orochimaru's right hand man, Kabuto. He smirked while holding a syringe which I noticed was empty.
"Hello Katsu." He greeted casually.
"What do you want?" I snapped, wincing as I felt my head begin to pound. My body began to feel heavy and holding the kunai became harder. Gripping onto the kunai I tried to take a swing at him but my vision blurred and my movements were sloppy. He simply stepped back with his eyes twinkling in amusement.
"What's wrong? Feeling bad?" He chuckled with a knowing look.
"What have you done to me?" I demanded, my legs growing too weak to support me so I fell to my knees then on to the floor, the kunai escaping my grip.
"Oh nothing. You'll just pass out in five.....four.....three....two...." Before he reached one, my eyelids closed and I fell unconscious. What the hell was going on and why was he after me?!

No P.O.V

In Naruto's flat, Yuki was giggling happily while Sakura tickled her but Naruto was growing concerned. It was now the evening and Katsu hadn't turned up. This was odd for her as she would never allow Yuki to stay awake this late.
"Sakura? Katsu-nee still hasn't turned up......" Naruto mumbled, his voice full of uncertainty. Sakura glanced up while tickling Yuki with a frown on her face as she too had realised how strange it was for Katsu to not have collected Yuki yet.
"Check at the hospital, we'll go together." She suggested, picking up Yuki who looked tired and confused. "We're gunna go and find your mummy." A grin spread across little Yuki's face as she thought of seeing her mama again. She had enjoyed herself with Sakura and Naruto, but she wanted to be with her mama now. Slipping on their sandals, they left the apartment and wandered through the streets towards the hospital. Once they were there, the nurse came out and stopped them.
"Sorry visiting hours are over now." She mumbled, smiling apologetically.
"We need to see Kakashi-sensei. Katsu-nee hasn't returned. She came here earlier right?" Naruto urged, standing where he was and not wanting to leave until he got answers. The nurse thought for a moment before realisation crossed onto her face.
"Oh! His wife right? Yeah, she was here earlier. She left around three. Seems like she fell asleep while visiting him. That's the last we saw of her." The nurse informed them with a small smile. Naruto and Sakura glanced warily at each other before thanking her and running off to the Hokage's office. Katsu would never just wander off and forget to collect Yuki. Something had happened and Naruto had a bad feeling about it.

Arriving at the Hokage's office, they knocked on the door before entering after Tsunade gave the ok. Tsunade looked up to see the two ninjas walk in surprised. They didn't have a mention today so why were they here? And why did they look so worried?
"Naruto, Sakura. What's wrong?" Tsunade asked.
"Katsu-nee hasn't returned home and we haven't seen her on our trip to the hospital and here." Sakura informed the woman responsible for teaching her. Tsunade thought for a moment before sighing.
"Are you sure she hasn't gone home and fallen asleep?" She suggested with a raised eyebrow.
"No we haven't checked but....." Before Naruto had the chance to finish his sentence, an ANBU member appeared inside the room.
"Hokage-sama. We have reports of seeing Kabuto around the village. One villager reports seeing him with Katsu Hatake." He informed Tsunade causing them all to gasp.
"He kidnapped her...." Sakura whispered out in shock.
"Track them now. We need to know if Katsu is indeed missing and we need to know why he was in our village. Katsu was thrown out by Orochimaru as a child so he may have further uses for her if he knows she's alive. Or it's an attempt to draw out Naruto. Either way we must know. Now go." She commanded. The ANBU member nodded before disappearing, leaving the room silent except for Yuki who had begun crying at hearing that her mama was missing. Naruto's hands tightened into fists and his heart tightened in his chest. He would get Katsu back whether he was allowed to or not.
