Flash.
"Alright turn to the right look straight ahead," the photographer mutters.
Caspian does as he's told nearly shaking with fear.
Flash.
"Okay next!" He yells.
Caspian shuffles over to the other cops who take his sign away from him and cuff his hands behind him again.
"This is what I call the Signature Jo," he hears Johanna announce.
He has no doubt in his mind that she's doing the effortless sexy smirk she does when she knows something no one else does. The smirk that drives him wild. Not that he would admit that.
He's pushed into a jail cell just like in the movies. The 3 sided cinder block room with the metal bar door that looks into the front. The only thing in the room includes an uncomfortable looking bed with a flat mattress. The only privacy he gets is the wall in front of the toilet with a sink next to it. He looks across at the empty cell and see it looks the same too.
He hears the clank of metal on metal as another prisoner walks in.
"Hey Cas!" Johanna says chirpily as she's pushed into the cell across from him. "Fine morning eh?"
"Shut up," the cop ushering her spits.
She mimes mocking him as he looks away from her. How she's so happy and still managing to be sassy, Caspian will never know.
As he slides the metal bar door shut on Johanna's cell, he begins to talk.
"You two are lucky that someone has already paid an early bail for you," he mutters barely audible. "You leave in 2 weeks instead of whenever you go to court."
"2 weeks!?" Caspian exclaims in surprise.
2 weeks is so long. His mother will be pissed at him and he'll miss school and-
"It's better than however long we were going to be staying," Johanna says leaning casually in her cell. "Who, do tell, is the person bailing us?"
"Mr. Alex Sinjer," the cop responds. "And he was not happy."
A extremely brief flicker of fear passes across Johanna's face. So brief in fact that Caspian is starting to believe he imagined it.
"Oh he'll deal," she says dismissing the officer with a wave.
She knew for a fact that when Sinjer is pissed he's pissed. Since she was never on the good side of Sinjer she doesn't know what type of punishment he had in mind.
The cop nods once and walks out, probably to get more actual criminals.
"Who's Alex Sinjer?" Caspian asks after he leaves.
Johanna bites her lip and averts eye contact.
Shit.
She has no idea how to tell him. Oh hey the guy that's bailing us is my boss/super secret agency top person and I could get fired haha.
"My boss," she mutters nearly bitterly.
"Your boss?" He asks mouth open slightly in surprise. "Why would your boss care about the fact that we're in jail?"
She sighs and glances up at Caspian through her lashes.
"Oh Cas there's so much you don't know about me." She throws him one of her signature smirks.
They wait in silence save Johanna's fingers tapping on her cell.
"Well this is bad," she finally mutters.
"That's a big understatement considering the fact that we are in jail for crimes we didn't commit not knowing wether or not we're going to die...."
"Well yeah that's pretty bad and all," she smirks and glances over at him. "The worst part is that I could break us out right now. I could've taken off the cuffs and hijacked the police car, but I didn't because I know that you wouldn't want to get into more trouble. You should thank me."
Caspian sighs in annoyance and gives his best bitch glare in her direction.
"Thank you bitch."
"Welcome nerd."

"This food is shit," Caspian mutters bitterly.
"You said that at dinner then at breakfast then at lunch," she replies, obviously irritated.
"Don't tell me it isn't shit," he groans.
"It is, but eat it anyways unless you want to starve."
He frowns but eats anyway. The food currently on his plate made the cafeteria food look like a 5 star restaurant. The bland taste of prison food meets his taste buds making him want to puke.
He and Johanna sit at a prison table in the cafeteria by themselves trying to stay separate from the rest. Across the cafeteria, the sound of men fighting breaks the silence.
Johanna jumps out of her seat and jogs over to the men.
"Oh god," Caspian says sinking into his seat.
"Hey stop it!" She yells pushing the two fighters apart. "We're all screwed here ok? Now stop it!"
The man towers over Johanna in what's meant to be a threatening way. She doesn't even flinch.
"Now why would we listen to you?" He asks spitting on her forehead while he talks.
She wipes the spit off her forehead a look of disgust on her face.
"Because as I said we're all screwed," she says. "We all screwed up. You killed somebody-"
"How do you-?"
"Your hair," she says simply. "And you don't regret it do you? You begged and pleaded and said that the bastardized had it coming but you wanted him dead. You wanted him dead more than anything and when you caught him with your girlfriend-"
The mans face contorts in an angry sad way and he moves to punch Johanna. Johanna does nothing to defend herself, just standing while the big man goes to punch her.
His fist is grabbed by an officer and his hands are cuffed behind his back just in time. He wrestles him away while he tries to lunge at Johanna again.
"I will find you again!" He snarls angrily.
"Well you did kill that person didn't you?" She says not seeming fazed.
"I did and I will do it again to you and I will enjoy it," he yells as he's taken out of the room.
"I'm so scared," she says sarcastically
The room falls silent as everyone stares after the man that was dragged out of the room. He was the oldest one there, and the biggest. All these kids are pretty young, 18 or younger.
The doors bangs open startling everyone.
"Time for bed folks."
