"Are you humming panic! at the disco?" Caspian asks as he listens to Johanna annoyingly hum away.
Johanna stops humming her song to glare at him.
"This is twenty one pilots you idiot," she scoffs as she continues humming.
Caspian sighs and collapses on his uncomfortable bed to stare up at the ceiling.
Humming. Tapping. Footsteps.
Humming. Tapping. Footsteps.
Humming. Tapping. Footsteps.
He feels like it should be the start of the cell block tango. He nearly smiles at the thought but immediately frowns again. (A/N: For all the peasants who are sadly deprived of musicals, go search up cell block tango on YouTube)
He's going to be so screwed when he gets home.
His overprotective parents are surely going to be 10x more overprotective now. He won't be able to do anything at all.
He sighs to himself sadly.
No more freedom.
He's startled out of his thoughts by a rapping on the metal bars.
He jolts up looking over to Johanna who was currently leaning casually on her elbows.
"Brighten up Cas," she says smiling. "Today's our last day. We get out of here bright and early tomorrow."
"Yeah and tomorrow I face everything." He sighs dramatically. "School my parents my social life all the homework." He buries his face in his hands.
"Who cares what they say?" She says dismissively. "We're teenagers we fuck everything up."
The person next to her shushes her.
"Hey it's true!" She protests. "But seriously it can't be that bad."

"Johanna Volfson," Sinjer says as he tuts un approvingly. "Way to make sure he doesn't get noticed."
"Thank you Sinjer," she replies doing a little curtsy.
"It's Gabriel," he sneers raising his chin a bit higher. "And I can fire you."
"Mm hm," she says not paying attention. "Now keep your voice down he's coming."
"Alex Sinjer?" Caspian asks as his eyes rest on Gabriel's figure.
"Please call me Gabriel," he says crossing the room and shaking Cas's hand.
"I've been told a lot about you Caspian," Gabriel says not letting go of his hands.
Caspian raises an eyebrow at Johanna to which she just smirks in amusement.
"If you don't mind uh," Caspian awkwardly let's go of Gabriel's firm grip. "Why exactly did you bail me? You don't exactly know me...."
Before Gabriel can talk Johanna interrupts him.
"There are many things you don't know Cas."
Gabriel glares at her to which she smiles sweetly. Gabriel scoffs and faces Caspian with a polite smile that looks forced.
"Exactly," Gabriel says trying to not sound sarcastic. "If you excuse us we have some important things to discuss."
Johanna walks over to Caspian and leans to whisper in his ear.
"Pray that I don't get fired," she murmurs not so quietly.
"Ok," Caspian says, wondering why on earth she didn't lower her voice.
She winks at him as she follows leisurely after Gabriel.

"Johanna Volfson," Gabriel says, repeating what he said earlier.
"Alex Gabriel Sinjer," she says back in the same pausing manner, as if a period was placed between each word.
He glares at her before clearing his throat and pulling on his tie.
"I'm taking you off the case," he says in a rushed tone of voice.
The air is heavy with the silence that followed.
Why is she upset? Didn't she want to be off this case? The weight of the serial killer following her is off her back, so why is she upset?
A part of her already knows. Of course she knows. She doesn't want to leave Caspian. Building up their friendship has become a highlight of her time. Not that she was doing well. That part of her tells her that it isn't just the friendship. She pushes it away. This is her job she can get over some petty feelings (p-e to the t-t-yyyyy) for her job.
"Alright," she mutters after a few moments. "Who's taking my place? Phil can't do it all alone."
"Katie Willson," he responds smiling ready to see her reaction.
Johanna glares at him while his smile widens at her obvious annoyance.
"You son of a bitch."

"Caspian Edgar," his mother says breathing heavily. "I'm so disappointed."
His mother is freaking out. Her knuckles are white against the steering wheel and she is breathing heavily. Her eyes bore into the road ahead of her with a ferocity that scares Caspian.
"I know," he mutters quietly.
"Be thankful to that," she pauses for a moment. "Man. What's his name? Alex Singer?"
"Alex Sinjer," Caspian corrects quietly.
"Yes whatever," she says tossing a hand in the air. "You should be thankful to him. He didn't even know you! And he bailed you out!"
Caspian nods looking solemnly out the window.
His mother sighs sadly and they drive for a few minutes in silence.
Caspian's mind wonders over to the familiar topic of Johanna. He has no doubt she's fired right now. He wonders if she'll still tolerate him after this event.
"I swear Caspian if I ever see you with that," she pauses and takes a deep breath. "Absolute scum of a girl I will ground you till you're 82."
Caspian nods once and sighs. Just when he and Johanna where about to finally get back on track they had to screw up and have the rug tugged from under their feet. Not that they really had anything. He wouldn't be surprised if Johanna turns her back on him right after.
They pull into the drive way and Caspian bolts out of the car. He scampers away to his bedroom where it's stripped of anything interesting.
In his mom's words his life is going to be, school, soccer and homework.
No tv, video games, phone, iPad or computer. His parents are pissed as hell and he knows it.
He falls on his bed and stares at his ceiling fan going around and around and around.
What have I gotten into?
