Caspian was having first day of school blues.
This includes him wishing that school wouldn't start and regretting not doing any school work over the summer.
Like any average teenage boy, he spent his time in the basement eating junk food and playing video games. His parents nagged at him to be active and all that jazz but of course he found a way to bend the rules and play yet more video games.
The only thing that sucked is that his big brother Alan still hasn't moved out and was constantly getting it on in the room next door.
It really interrupted the gaming process for Caspian.
But now he's sitting in the front seat of his truck, dreading the fact that school has started and he has to be social.
He's pulled out of his thoughts by a knock on his window. He rolls down the window to be met with the smiling face of his best friend Izsac.
"Hey I what's up?" Caspian asks leaning out of the truck to give his friend a high five. "How was Hawaii?"
"It was great," he beams leaning against the side of the truck. "How was your summer? Bet it was lame without me."
"It was pretty lame actually," Caspian chuckles. "My brother still hasn't moved out. He was getting laid every other night and it was not quiet."
Izsac fake frowns at him, turning his lips down in an over-exaggerated sad face.
"Boo Hoo," he says sarcastically dragging his finger down his cheek to resemble a tear. "Let's go or we're gonna be late."
Caspian groans loudly but climbs out of the truck, dragging his obnoxiously heavy backpack onto his shoulders and slamming the door behind him.
As they walk across the parking lot to the front doors, an impala nearly runs them over and speeds over to the closest parking spot.
Caspian opens his mouth to curse the driver out for nearly killing them when out of the sleek black car comes out a familiar face.

"Anna! Welcome back we've missed you dear," Johanna's grandma, Debby, coos as she pulls her into a tight hug.
Johanna awkwardly hugs her grandma back. Johanna didn't enjoy the whole physical contract thing, especially with relatives.
"How was your trip honey?"
"It was good grandma," Johanna responds before awkwardly shuffling down the stairs to her bedroom.
Over the summer Johanna takes any chance she can to leave her grandparents house. Not that she doesn't love them, in fact she's beyond grateful for them, but sometimes they just aren't what she's looking for. During summer Johanna goes away for the annual 'school summer trip'. In reality, she works all summer. She hates lying to her grandparents but it's the only choice.
After all how often do you find out your granddaughter works with the government?
Johanna has worked with the government ever since she was a 7th grader in middle school. She's solved world cases but never takes credit for them, she doesn't want credit. She wants answers. The answers for who killed her parents when she was 10.
Every time she cuts it close to the beginning of school. Most of the time she doesn't even make it back within the first week. The police and detectives that she works with say that school is extremely important and she still had to get the social skills or whatever since she could've passed high school a few years ago.
Johanna couldn't care less about those 'social skills' but listens to them anyway.
The most recent case she worked on last was small and easy, kind of embarrassing the police couldn't work it out themselves. So she got home early, the morning before school starts.
She flops on her bed staring at the ceiling with the paint chipping off, threatening to fall of.
She never bothered to decorate her room. A simple bed with a simple vanity and a desk. She was happy though, sometimes she isn't as fortunate to have a bed of her own.
She rolls over to check her clock. 5:00 in the morning is too early for Johanna. They sent her back so she could go to school on the first day.
She did look like a wreck though. Her hair was messed up and she had dark circles under her eyes from many restless nights. She decides to freshen up and put on some makeup to mask her scars, bruises and dark circles. She throws on some black skinny jeans and a purple shirt with cut outs in the back. She attempts to brush out her crazy hair but gives up quickly and throws it into a messy bun.
As she walks downstairs her grandparents are waiting for her with a poorly wrapped present on the table.
Her grandparents spoil her it's plainly obvious to Johanna. She mentioned wanting an impala and the next day a shiny black impala was waiting in the driveway. For Christmas she rounded up a total amount of 501$ from her grandparents. She can't help but think that the only reason they spoil her so much is because they pity her after she lost her parents. She never really asks for anything but they always make sure she's more than happy.
"Hi Anna," her grandfather, John, greets. "We got you something for school."
She smiles but it doesn't feel like it quite reached her eyes.
She tears off the wrapping paper and opens the rectangular box. Inside lies a beautiful blue ring. The color matches her eyes that are currently hidden under brown contacts.
"Thank you both," she says smiling again, trying to look grateful.
The ring is magnificent but Johanna doesn't understand why they got it for her. She turns it over in her hand looking at it. Easily a very expensive present that makes her feel guilty for not wanting it.
"Oh you're welcome dear," Debby says leaning over and kissing her cheek. "I knew you'd love it."
"Thank you again," she says as she grabs her keys and starts walking out the door. "Bye! Love you!"
"Love you too Anna," John replies smiling.
Johanna fake smiles again before rushing out the door.
"Hey baby," she coos at her car before getting in and starting it.
Johanna has an obsession with the show Supernatural. It was kind of cool to see a show where they did the same stuff she did, but somehow cooler. She especially loves the impala, the car one of the main characters drives. Therefore she go one herself, demon proofed and all.
As she starts the car, the familiar rumble of the engine comforts her as she drives a bit wildly to school. She knew she should be a bit more careful, because if she got a ticket or had to go to jail, she would be in some deep shit.
As she pulls into the parking lot she nearly runs over 2 boys dwindling in the middle of the parking lot. As she pulls into the nearest pairing spot and gets out to yell at them she recognizes one of the boys.
