Chapter 11: False Love
Sky stares at him. What am I supposed to say? Do I feel the same way? How do I tell? I've never been taught this! What do I say? Thoughts rush through the girl's head. "I..."
Jake nods. "I had a feeling you wouldn't feel the same way. Love is a strange thing I'll be going now," he says as he stands.
Skylynn watches as he leaves. As he walks across the bridge, she stands up and runs to him. "Wait!" She shouts at him. Sky grabs his hand. "How do I know if I'm in love?" She asks, hurriedly.
Jake turns to her, and he gives a weak smile. "Your heart starts pounding in your chest, and you can never see anything wrong with the person. You can only see them, and nothing else. You get a sense where you'd die for this person, even if they've never talked to you once," he explains softly.
Sky feels like she should do something. I've seen people do this...hopefully I'm good enough... She thinks before she pulls him down to her height and presses her lips to his.
Jake's eyes widen, but he responds. He pulls away eventually, and he blushes. "I-I should go now...see you later, Skylynn," he says as he quickly jogs to the elevator and presses the button. The elevator arrives, and he disappears inside with Clavis.
Sky stares after him. Do I love him? Or did I do that just for his sake? She asks herself as she walks back to the bar. Maybe I'll never know.

Mitch enters the bar, and Sky looks up at him. "Welcome back, Mitch. I'm glad to have you here," Sky greets, trying to ignore the fight they had only a human day ago.
Mitch grumbles, but he sits down at the bar. "What's wrong with this place?" He asks, ignoring her hello.
Sky stares at him blankly. "Nothing is wrong, this is just how reality is. Sometimes, you just have to accept it, rather than fight it," she says as she cleans a glass. Her eyes wander around him, and she avoids Mitch's eyes.
Mitch slams his fist on the table. "What the hell? Accept it? Accept that I'm dead, but I'm still moving?" He stares at Sky. "How can I do that? Why don't you teach me that?" He demands.
Sky turns her back to him. "I cannot teach that, you must learn yourself," she says as she places the glass into the cabinet.
Mitch stands back up, and he forces himself to the back of the bar. "Skylynn, Kiko, whoever I'm talking to, I need to know how to accept it!"
Sky turns back to him, and she pushes him away from her. "You are dead, accept it! It's not that hard! Because you don't have the hard part. I'm the one who's supposed to get all of the Arbiters emotions! Do you know how many--"
Something hard slams into her chest, and she recoils back. "Mitch, why?" She shouts at him.
Mitch stares down at her with surprise. "What? That wasn't me! It was him!" He says, pointing to the ominous figure at the elevator.
