Sam

"For how long have you been a rogue for?" Xander asks.

I looked up to meet his gaze and for that short moment. I felt safe and happy, but his question made me look down at my lap with the memories of why I ran away from my pack, making me frown.

"Not very long," I answered.

Xander looked at me with a curious look in his eyes before it was replaced by some kind of emotion that I couldn't identify.

I tried to finish my food, but I couldn't due to the fact that I was starved often and was given little food back at my old pack. I pushed my bowl away.

"I'm done," I said in a small voice.

Xander looked at my bowl before a frown etched onto his face.

"You're not hungry anymore? You barely ate a quarter of your food!" Xander exclaimed.

I flinched at the tone of his voice and tried to curl myself up in a  ball. Xander's eyes softened and he looked at me apologetically.

"I'm sorry for scaring you," Xander mumbled before making a move to hug me.

'Don't worry. Our mate will never harm us.' My wolf said softly.

I allowed Xander to hug me because I trusted my wolf, and if she says that Xander won't harm us then I believe that he won't. I got enough scars already, I don't need anymore to add to my collection.

Xander's arms wrapped around me and pulled me to his chest making my wolf purr in my head. I blushed at her reaction and tried to hide my face in his chest. I heard him chuckle making me feel the vibrations in his chest and making me blush even more.

I pulled away from Xander and grabbed my bowl, throwing the food in the trash before washing it and leaving it to dry. I turned to Xavier and waited for him to tell me what we'll be doing next.

"This is the packhouse. We have our own house just for us. Come on, I'll take you there," Xander said before taking a hold of my hand and walking out of the packhouse. We walked in the forest in silence with me following him and him holding my hand.

After a few minutes of walking, I saw a big house ahead of us. Xander pulled my hand and stopped in front of the door unlocking it before leading me inside and closing the door behind us. He pulled me to the living room and sat me down on the couch before standing in front of me.

"You will stay in this house and wait for me to finish working on pack business. You will have guards guarding you every time I'm not around for your safety, and if you want to go somewhere you'll have to ask one of the guards to mind link me and ask for permission." Xander said before his eyes glazed over letting me know that he's mind linking someone.

A few minutes later, I caught Liam's scent and an unfamiliar one making me feel uncomfortable. Xander gave me a reassuring smile before I heard footsteps walking in the living room. I looked up to see Liam with another guy trailing beside him.

"Hello Alpha, hey Sam," Liam greeted us with a confused expression when he noticed me in his alpha's house, probably confused to what I'm doing here.

"Liam, Blake," Xander said, giving them a nod with a blank expression on his face.

"Alpha," the other man greeted who I assume is Blake.

"Both of you will be guarding your Luna every time I'm not around. If she wants to go somewhere, one of you will have to mind link me and let me know before I decide whether or not she can go. Do not let her out of your sight and protect her with your life." Xander said in an authoritative tone.

"Yes Alpha," Liam and Blake said in unison, their gazes lowered at the floor.

Xander turned to me and gave me a hug.

"I'll be back later," Xander said before going to the front door and leaving the house.

"Hey Sam, since you're here I'm guessing your the alpha's mate?" Liam said with giving me a little grin.

"Y-yes," I said.

"Oh yeah, this is Blake. He's the third in command of this pack," Liam explained gesturing towards Blake who was standing beside him.

"Luna," Blake said bowing his head as a sign of respect.

"Oh, no ne-need to be so fo-formal, just call me Sam," I said giving him a small smile.

Blake nodded and gave me a small smile.

"So, what do you want to do?" Liam asks.

"Actually, I just want to go lie down in our room for a bit," I said standing up.

"Oh, okay, if you need anything we'll be right here," Liam said before sitting in the couch and setting up a game for him and Blake to play.

I made my way upstairs to our bedroom to think about the things that happened to me today.
