Willow's POV
Only Wren knows my past. She was the only person I trusted for a while, until I met Mikey and the boys. I've been broken many times, and it's hard for me to trust others. I let my emotions get a hold of me and things go to far. The only person that can calm me and understand me like no one else is Wren, or at least that's what I thought until I met Michael.
I knew right from the beginning that he was different from the rest. When we first made eye contact I could already see that he had built up walls to keep people out. I had done just the same. The only person to break all the way through was Wren.
We all sat together in the hotel room. Mikey had just shared with all of us his past, it was now my turn. I owed it all to them. I didn't want to tell, but I knew I had to tell them. Wren moved away from Luke and next to me. She knew what I was going to say, she knew it wasn't the easiest to share.
"My past isn't the prettiest, and it isn't the easiest to share." I start off with and already tears are forming.
Wren quickly pulls me into a hug before Mikey can. "You don't have to share love." She says quietly to me. I pull away and give her the oh-but-I-do look. She gives me a weak smile and nods, she understands why I must.
"It all started a few years ago. Well, more like several years ago. It started back in sophomore year high school. I didn't know Wren yet so I was a total wreck and was lost. I was with the wrong crowd. It was around Christmas time, and I had just been asked on a date by one of the popular guys.
Back then I was a wanna be popular, so of course I jumped and took the offer, not even thinking twice about it. We dated for about four months, it all seemed real, it all seemed true. It wasn't. The day before our four month anniversary I over heard him talking to someone, it was all a big lie. A big fat fucking lie.
I was tricked, it was just a bet he had lost. He never truly loved me, I was never enough fro someone to truly like me. I fell into a dark spell after that. I didn't talk to anyone, I was mad at the world, I was broken.
I was broken until I stumbled upon this litter birdie -I nudged Wren-. She picked me up, and fixed me up. She reminded me what love was supposed to be, and how it should be. She saved me from falling into a dark pit of sadness.
My story isn't over yet. Once again two years later in our senior year I was stabbed in the back once again. Not by a guy, but by a girl who I'd thought to be my best friend. She turned me away from Wren for a while, and took me down a dark path.
She was only using me though, once again I as being used. After that problem I ran back to Wren on my hands and knees and begged for forgiveness, I didn't have to much though, she gladly took me under her wing again. (PUN NOT INTENDED) She fixed me up once again, this time she protected me from the world and everything bad, she became my guardian angel.
But guardian angels can't protect you from everything. I was stabbed in the back once again, not by a guy, not buy another friend, but by my own parents. " That was all I could get out before sobs over took my body.
The room was silent all that was heard were my sobs for a while. Wren opened her arms and I fell into them. She comforted me then passed me off to Michael, only then did I realize the pain and sorrow in her eyes. She was silent as a mouse, no words were spoken from her.
Michael pulled me into his arms, I instantly melted in them. Just being in his arms was enough to make me feel safe. I looked around the room for a moment. Cal and Ash were crying to their selves, Luke was silent just like Wren, although he had a more readable expression, Wren on the other hand was unreadable.
"Sorry about that guys, let me finish the rest of the story." I said as I cleared my throat.
"You don't have to. It hurts enough go see this happen to you, but to hear it all over again it sucks even more." Wren finally says. I look at her and give her a small weak smile. She can't protect me from everything and that's what kills her.
"I know I don't, but I want to. I want to be open to all of you. So any way, my parents. They are beautiful, amazing people, or so I thought. They kept this secret from me for 18 years, 18 years of my life I lived a lie. The kept from me that I was adopted. The kept it from me for 18 years. They lost my trust like many others did. I was mad at them, I was mad a the world.
So, since I was 18 I ran away from home. I ran to Wren, and she took me in. I haven't looked back since that day, and I don't want to. I haven't spoken or seen my parents since then." I say finally letting it all out.
When I finished I let out a huge sigh, it felt so good to let that all out. It felt good to not be carrying those secrets any more, it felt good to be an open book to those who want to care.
"I won't ever hurt you Will. I don't think I ever could. I love you so much. So much." Michael says and kisses me. I smile slightly, I believe him, I truly do.
"Ugh, save the couple stuff for later, like when we're gone!" Cal shouts. I laugh and pull away from Michael. I don't turn away and face the others, I just focus on him. We are both broken in our own ways. Our story isn't like others. Ours is where a broken boy meets a broken girl. We are both broken, but we are okay. We've been safety pinned back together by those who we love. Sometimes I wish I could just forget about all of that crap, and all of the little things with it, but then I'm reminded that those experiences only made me stronger. So I decide to keep all of them.
After Cal speaks I hear someone smack him, followed by Cal yelling. I laugh a little and turn around and face them. "Thank you all for listening, I know I can trust all of you." I say as I look at everyone in the eye.
"No problem Willow, we're your family now. You can tell us anything." Ash says.
"Ash is right Will, you can tell us anything. I won't let anything hurt you." Mikey says and hugs me. I hug him back and thank them all. Everyone has said something now that I'm done, everyone except for Wren. She just quietly sits there on her perch and stares out lost in thoughts.
I'm about to say something to her, but she suddenly she get's up and walks out with out saying a word. I sigh, I know where she's going, I know what's going on. She doesn't like to bring up the past, she never has and never will. She safety pinned me, it's my turn to do the same to her.
