"MOM! I'M HOME!" I shout out once I walk in.
"Okay, sweetie. Gram's is coming over for dinner tonight." I nod, then realize she can't see me, so I drop my bag and walk around the house until I find her in the laundry room.
"Cool. Have any cool patient stories?" I ask her, spotting some shorts I can wear tomorrow and grab them.
"Yes." My mom and I always talk about the crazy hospital patients she has every day. She's a nurse and works in the emergency room. She gets weird clients coming in quite a lot.
"Ooh. Do tell." These stories are always interesting. I know she shouldn't be telling me, but who am I going to tell besides Cara. And who would she tell? I'm her only friend. I now see where I get my social life from. I didn't realize loneliness was passed down through genes. No offense, mom.
"Some lady had her foot ran over by a scooter, and it made a trail mark on her foot. The way she was acting, though. I swear it sounded like sex," my moms grimaces, "like the moaning noises, and grunts."
"I wouldn't know mom." Unlike others, I'm a virgin.
"Oh right, well there's porn."
If I had water, I would either be choking on it or spitting it out. But I manage to choke on my own saliva.
"Oh God, mom," I groan and walk away.
I don't realize my mom followed me until she speaks while I'm looking for food in the small black fridge in our small kitchen. It's painted red and has a swirly 'k' on the back wall for Keller. Or in my head, I think for Kay.
"There's no food," my mom sighs as she sets a clothes basket down on one of the breakfast bar stools. "So I need you to go shopping." Mom hands me a fifty dollar bill, and I grab my phone and walk towards the door. "Feel free to get something you want." I smile and thank her before getting in my precious car to leave.

The closest Walmart is a super one. You know, one of those gigantic ones with every darn thing in the world. Except for elephants. And every other animal. Unless it's stuffed. You know what I mean.
I walk in the air-conditioned store and look at the plain white tiles while I walk. I look up just in time to see I almost bump into someone. My shoes screech against the ground as I stop myself from running into this person.
"Hello, cupcake."
It's Noah. I frown.
I still have not gotten over the fact he kissed me in detention. I mean, who would? He is a total dick and I really wonder how people haven't noticed it. Granted, he looks like an angel but is far from.
"Hello, asscake," I say sarcastically. I swear this boy follows me.
I step around him and walk away, and a second later he's beside me.
See? Follows.
"Oh, I've never heard that one." He says, and I can hear a smirk in his words.
I decide to be boring and just roll my eyes, "Yay. I'm special."
"Actually you are," Noah says honestly. I look at him sideways and see him smiling.
"How?"
"You're bold and daring. Not everyone would punch me three times. Two of those in the balls." I try to fight off a goofy smile, but its no use. I crack a grin. Damn, he's good.
"Oh really?" I question disbelievingly. He just smiles and walks past me when I stop and turn down the chip aisle.
What? I love Wavy Lays.
